Thanks Norseman - so if it's a tropical disease, presumably a higher number of locals contract it than farang? So do locals also experience limitations in employment as well?

Seems to be the 'elephantitis' it can lead to Mags, as in the link Lomu put up for the 'retirement O-A' visas the wording had changed to specifically mention it ... "Not having prohibitive diseases ( Leprosy, Tuberculosis, drug addiction, Elephantiasis, third phase of Syphilis) as indicated in the Ministerial Regulation No. 14 B.E. 2535."
Funny you should say that stu-pot, because under the immigration act ALL us temporary stayers here should in theory be tested when we come back into the country via the re-entry permit system
It was required for my WP by Prachuap labour office. Local clinics no good, had to go to San Paolo for blood test and the usual "Look into my eyes" nonsense.
