4800 a day might seem plenty for people living there BaaBaa - who are used to budgeting and market shopping. But for someone wanting a 'good time' for 10 days - well - I'm not sure it'll be anywhere near enough. Especially with a trip to Pattaya planned as well. The taxi could use up a days' allowance just for one way. Then there's all the bells and extras... as we all know it's a tradition for any newcomer to go to the busiest bar on a Friday night and ring the bell at least 3 times. Know what I mean?

I agree with the last post, in that 1k may not really be enough. When I was still free and single I used to go through more than that during my time here. Put it this way, if you bring 1k you'll have a great time and you'll end up spending the lot, and if you bring 10k you'll also have a great time and end up spending the lot.

If you are going to party all the time including a trip to Pattaya and I assume you'll spend some time in Bangkok too, then £1000 should be enough.... per day!

I always work on £100 per day plus accommodation, but I like eating/ Drinking Thai style....until about 11pm then let rip a bit

the first night I arrive I tend to spend TWICE that on booze and sanuk alone
Checking my spending last twoo weeks in HH / BKK, Excluding hotel costs :
I avareage at about 6 K per day and that was no where near maxed out.
a massage her, a happy ending there, a BF here, food there. drinks every where and you will hit 5 K easily

Just done my spread sheet thing today back home in the uk, taking out the odd crazy night out at the Hilton, scooter hire, BKK taxi hire, and one off expensive trips to Kanga Chang etc I was avg 5k baht a day sounds crazy but true.
And that was eating at Grand Plaza rice/noodle stalls as well, and all I brought back was 7 dvds, but the memories as they say in the advert priceless
