yes, they are the realistic targets & you could add kirkland to that list too.

top teams have top keepers, they can save you a lot of points over a season.
i've lost count of how many our two have cost us :? :cuss:

top teams in the prem have, van der saar, reina, cech, gomes, given & friedel.
all top keepers & none realistic targets, though we could have had shay given for 6 million :cuss: :cuss: :cuss:

though there isn't a lot between all of them, at the moment i think gomes just shades it on current form :|
As for Fabregas, he'll end up at Barca but I'm not sure when.
most likely when xavi, messi or iniesta leave . . . . . . . . . .

He's a ready made replacement for Xavi but Xavi is only 30 so has got a fair few years left yet.

Iniesta is only 25.

redzonerocker wrote:what? you want to sack him after overseeing a major overhaul at arsenal which included . . . .
moving to a brand new stadium.
a new state of the art training centre.
& an academy set up second to none!!!!
Yes I do! I do admit that Wenger has brought a lot to Arsenal and he was good at that, but like a company need different MDs depending on the phase the company is in, the club now needs to find another manager if we ever again are going to win titles.

Wenger would, in my opinion, be a excellent junior's trainer but someone else should coach the first team.

Forget relegation from the Premier League, they may be relegated from existence. Pete

Which teams came up:

2008- Hull, Stoke, ?

2009- Wolves, Burnley, ?

This is not a quiz, I just forget the third teams. :D Pete

Thanks RZR. I'm looking for patterns but not really seeing any. I need to do more research. I'm thinking how many historically have:

- come up and gone down the very next year
- the second year
- who has stuck for at least 5

I think I read Newcastle has only been down once before in the history of the PL and it will be interesting next year to see if they have staying power this time around. Pete

I think West Brom are the best example of a yo-yo team!

Newcastle didn't do well with them this year. Two draws and a loss. Pete

It was all too easy, wasn't it, Chelsea didn't even have to play well! Hansons summing up of Liverpool on MOTD2 was scathing.

Who do you fancy for your next manager? Hodgson? O'Neill? Mourinho? They're the three names I've seen bandied around - any others?
