Halal Resturaunt in HH
Halal Resturaunt in HH
Hi all,
I have some mates riding up from Malaysia for a few days and I would like them to be able to keep to thier faith and enjoy a Halal resturaunt while they are here.
Does any one know of, or has anyone seen a Halal resturaunt in Hua Hin?
Thanks,
Foxy

Hmmm..... I feel very tempted to write something like "your inquiry is just as provocative as my avatar", but I will try not to.f0xxee wrote:Hi all,

Hey Lung Per,
I was really hoping that as this forum is about a country other than our own, persons might consider other religions and beliefs exist and should be respected.
I find your reply churlish, bad mannered and a waste of bytes. Your avatar is provacative and uncalled for. Your sense of humour needs boundaries.
Perhaps if you worked day in day out with budhists, muslims, christians, taoists, etc etc as I do you might realise that fundamentism is the bane of all thinking persons, and is generally regarded as a step too far by the average punter, what ever thier religion. People are people.
I think you should take the time to wonder around Malaysia and feel the warmth, generosity and hospitality. I am often there and am no longer surprised that my needs and background are accepted and catered to. All I am asking is to return the same graciousness.
Deeply disapointed Lung Per. I take it Chapel Hill North Carolina USA is not exactly a hot bed of multiculturalism... so perhaps you should park your racist remarks your side of the internet.
Moderators: I have found my answer in a blog... Dont think I'll bother this forum again if you support such feeble bollocks.

Lung Per, your comment is out of order and uncalled for, if you have nothing constructive to add please don't post.
f0xxee, please don't write off this entire forum because of one stupid comment.

I am sometimes faced with your problem. I find that the best appropriate alternative is Indian (or other) vegetarian meals ..f0xxee wrote:Hi all,

Fellows I don't know what the beef is about (joke). There appear to be a few small places displaying the green crescent and star both in HH, ChaAm and Pranburi. Also noted Jawii writing so I expect halal. Can't understand why Malaysians want to come to a den of inequity with women, alcohol and pork to eat. Much better food offerings there in Malaysia! But each to their own.
Re: Halal Resturaunt in HH
Hi Carlesh,
yeah I know I have seen the signs around... but you know what it's like... when you then actively seek such a place you can never find it....
Look I don't want to appear argumentative, but are you telling me that because they are muslim there is nothing for them in Thailand? OR are you saying that all Thailand represents to you is chicks, booze and pork?
Look at the original post... they are riding big bikes up. The ride is what it is about, as well as the destination. Thailand tourism supports all races and religions, and one of the reasons I choose to live here is the tolerance.
As you have no doubt been to Lower Sukhamvit (BKK) you would be aware there is a heavy population of middle eastern persons.
Lastly: Don't misunderatand me, I am just a genial easy going aussie. But one of my reasons for moving here was to escape the growing racism and racist attitudes which seem to be gaining ground based around the politics of fear. If my new home promotes a tolerant and welcoming atmosphere that will do me just fine.

Now, don't get me wrong, but judging from your posts, I would say you may want to lighten up a little. One other thing you've obviously overlooked is the fact that Thais in general are very racist themselves. Don't forget, there's a vast difference between acceptance and tolerance.f0xxee wrote:I am just a genial easy going aussie. As many Farang have pointed out in the past, a Farang will always be a Farang, no matter how long you live here. A mixed race child is referred to as such, irrespective of the fact that they have been born here. Yes I know, they are treated equally, if not better that pure-blood Thais. Lastly, and while this may come as a shock to you, there are several restaurants and clubs in Bangkok that still continue to turn black people away. I myself have witnessed it happening in Bangkok a few years back. Hell, the Thais aren't even able to accept each other as being equal, let alone other cultures and nationalities. Just think of the Thai smile.........it can say I love you just as it can say I hate you.
Not having a go at you, but just pointing out that sometimes it's good to see things without the help of rose colored glasses.
Anyway, to get back to topic, I think most of the Indian restaurants are halaal. Then again, I've met many Malaysians who don't like Indian food as they say it's too spicy. Your only other option would be to buy halaal food and then prepare it yourself

Don't try to impress me with your manner of dress cos a monkey himself is a monkey no less - cold fact
Re: Halal Resturaunt in HH
Hi Takiab,
Thanks and I got the info I needed, but i will take onboard about the Indian food. I like it anyhow.
Re: Rose coloured glasses and lightening up:
I went to school in Malaysia and Singapore and have riden bikes all over SE Asia and workoffshore with Asian and Indian crews... and they are just people... no more and no less. Some are shit heads and some are true gentlemen. The same as in any population.. Same same good and bad thais, poms, aussies. I am in Vietnam as I write this... plenty of good and bad here too.
What i dont like is writers presuming that muslims/jews/christians/buddhists have different values, interests or for that mater humanity : as in "why would they want to come to thailand?" Well my sister is a vegetarian, doesn't eat pork and last time I looked wasn't a lesbian (but she's from Sydney so anything is possible) so she's not looking for wild women, but she would and does still enjoy her visits. See where I am coming from?
I really only came looking for a halal resturaut not an argument. But I dislike rascism.

Dear f0xxee
If you dislike racism then why you ever joined the ladyboy forum run by Stogie aka Newman. Trying to lecture everybody with your view. If one person is full prejudices or even racism it's him. Maybe you can explain. Or would it be that Newman is part of the HH community.
Re: Halal Resturaunt in HH
I'm confused.

Re: Halal Resturaunt in HH
Me too!
Try seafood.
Try seafood.
Re: Halal Resturaunt in HH
Unanimous... me three!
Re: Halal Resturaunt in HH
Me four, but that's normal for me...

My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
