The card I've got, which is about 6 months old, says that the selected lunch menu is from 11.00-16.00 and the dinner buffet is from 16.00-23.00, so I don't think there's a buffet at lunchtime.
The friend who went a few times last year said that he got there around 5pm both times and the buffet was still being prepared, so it's probably better to get there a bit later.

Hi,

Sorry is this buffet on every night or just weekends?

Sounds great value!

Thanks,

I've got one of their cards and they say it's only 109THB for those under 120cms.

Is that head to feet or around the middle?

I eventually made it to Backyard Steak last night for my birthday and couldn't agree more with the other posters who've been there and enjoyed it.
The sushi was really sushi rolls, but still tasty with the Kikoman soy sauce and wassabi - we had quite a bit of that.
The samosas were small, but well fried and again tasted excellent. The steaks were - well don't expect T-bones or fillets - but they had been marinaded well and tasted just fine. I asked for medium rare, so they were maybe a little overdone, but easy to eat.
The salad bar was overwhelming and my wife really enjoyed that. I was getting stuck into the meat and fish stuff.
The staff were really polite and helpful, explaining how to go about getting our food - in other words, "it's up there, get stuck in"!!
And the shocking thing was that it set me back under 500 THB for two, including quite a few beers.
Hic. I've got a bit of a hangover and will definitely go back again.

The steaks are OK but they are Thai and are not imported. The sushi is good and the restaurant is good value for money but I think that they are only open for dinner and not lunch. We tried when last in town for lunch but closed.

I don't know about lunchtime.
The steaks are certainly not imported, as I implied earlier. However, they are well marinaded, Japanese style, and very tasty.
I couldn't expect any more for 159 THB a person - all you can eat. I think I was up at the steak counter three times.
The fact that it was packed out with Thais also said a good bit as well.

We went to the Backyard Steak Restaurant earlier this week and once again it could not be faulted. :thumb:

We have been there perhaps 6 or 7 times now and never had any problems. The staff are always friendly and attentive. :D The restaurant itself is very clean, and the variety of food is excellent. There is something for everyone, including nice little chocolate brownies for dessert along with real ice cream.

I have to confess I'm not a steak expert, or indeed a steak fan, but I can't believe you will be able to find better value for money anywhere in Hua Hin :duck:

I also enjoy their soup, they always have three varieties to chose from, and I sometimes try more than one

I tend not to comment on my favourite restaurants, as being a selfish so and so :naughty: I don't want them becoming too popular and I can't get a seat next visit, however I think I'm quite safe as there appears to be amble room, and usually nobody listens to me anyway! :banghead:

Once again well done Backyard Steak

Two years on and this place is still going strong. We went for the first time last night. The price is now 189 baht per person and there is a BBQ section in addition to everything mentioned earlier, which I spotted when I was already stuffed but will try next time. The range is amazing and is kept warm and topped up very efficiently.

A lot of young Thais eating there, many students.

We'll be back...

The food is OK, but I'm not too fond of all the flies sitting on the salad bar items. They try to rectify this by having some unhappy and underpaid employee stand there and swish the flies away, but it's an exercise in futility.
