Passport photos

Post by crazy88 »

For those of you who need to apply for a new UK passport be aware that the background must be white. The photo shops in town use a blue screen which just cost a friend a weeks overstay at least. :banghead:

I got a new UK passport a few weeks a go and the standards for photographs are quite strict:

I got caught out with a different problem - Size. The Thai standard is not the same as the requirement for the UK.
The Thai system is much more efficient as the photo is taken be them as is with the driving licence.
I do not know why particularly as the photo is scanned by the British embassy why could they not change the background colour size etc. Yes I know rules is rules jobsworth etc. :)

got mine done at the Kodak shop in Market Village - took the printout from the embassy with me, made sure the background was OK, white is possible if you ask and told them the required measurements and they did everything required more than happily.
