I know exactly what you mean, I don't mind the track but their whole sound went a bit too "BIG" on the last album, It always seems to happen to good bands unfortunately.
It's not that they stop making good music, they just get too polished.
I've only had a quick flick through the new one so can't comment.

yep, way to mainstream
they have opened up to a new & wider audience, most who haven't heard their early stuff & probably wouldn't like it as much
i like a few tracks from their last album, just not all the commercially orchestrated stuff
give us a review when you've had a longer flick through!!
Remember, no one can make you feel inferior without your consent.
Kind of a halfway review, after a few listens, it's only 45 minutes long.
It's certainly not "Only By The Night" there's no standout singles, in a good way. It's more like "Because Of The Times".
"Because Of The Times" is IMO their best album because they kinda peaked production and song writing wise but it still had the odd KOL shitkicker like "Charmer" thrown in.
It's a good album, easy listening would be the wrong word but it just kinda flows.
The whole album is a bit like one of my favourite tracks off "Because Of The Times".........Deserty!!???
been up all night on a steady diet of coffee and fags and writing....and this lot...MASTERS OF REALITY... a stoner rock band from the early 90s..their first album BLUE GARDEN is highly recomended
Im off to listen to some old Rainbow and Dio
"Science flew men to the moon. Religion flew men into buildings."
For reasons I can't explain I'm listening to three female singers with unique phrasing, often soothing voices and more authenticity than anybody I've heard in a while.
I was searching for that World Cup song by Pavarotti 'Nessun Dorma' on YouTube, found it and it started playing whilst I was browsing the footy threads in 'Sports Forum' and was also reading a reply by Pete in 'Current Affairs' at the time.
I've never been in such a moment of agreement with BaaBaa/Caller/RZR and Pete at the same time.
