Loy Krathong is the 21st from all the reference material I have here. Full moon falls on that day. Some places have celebrations on the 20th as well as a build up. Pete

That is what I have been told, I get a list and updates of all the bike weeks and fingers crossed I will managed to attend the HH one this year.
I have missed the last two, two years ago I was away working and last year I was so choked up with the flu that I could not hold my bike up.

As a community service for those who haven't celebrated this holiday before. When buying a krathong please, please DO NOT buy any with a styrofoam base as it will still be floating when your grandchildren are old, if it hasn't been ingested by marine life and killed them. There are always plenty available with an organic base such as a sliced banana tree trunk. Enjoy the event, it's the best and most sincere holiday of the year here IMO. Pete

Good point, Pete - we normally go to Pranburi for Loy Krathong and they also have cake-based krathongs there, which means that it simply becomes fish food!

Indeed! If they can put a pint of steaming New England clam chowder into a hollowed out bread loaf, it will sure work for a Krathong float as well. Pete
