Better not mention that Spurs are 2-0 down and your goalies been sent off!

Internet Caffs seem to be shrinking in both size and quantity.
Up here in Bon Kai they are really plentiful, and all seem to be packed to gunnels with Thai teenage boys. Those who can't get inside, sit outside looking quite menacing on their scooters.
How are you finding the expenditure graph going?
Outside of the town centre prices don't seem to have changed much. Obviously, my Pound isn't worth as much this time, but I'm not really looking at how much extra things are working out at. If I'm being charged 500 Baht this time for something that cost me 500 Baht last time, I'm happy. FX Rates are outwith our control - if you don't like it, then you shouldn't have joined

I did T/Cs. I changed a load last Sunday in a bank in Market Village, so haven't tried a kiosk yet. Don't worry, I'll report the kiosk experience when it happens in a few cdays time.

BB

The Bank on the top floor far end Market Village was doing ATM cash withdrawals with no fees a couple of months ago. Been mentioned previously. Someone will know the name and if current?

Used it all the time no surprises. The money I saved went on the Special of the Day at Sizzler!!

It should be mentioned there's been some bad stories about them, not in Hua Hin but elsewhere here. Do a Google as indications are sometimes cash is not received but they insist it has been. Other times they admit a problem but it takes a long time to reimburse your account.

I know, anyone can make up a story for whatever reason. I've just never read about similar bad experiences with other bank ATM's.

I researched them as I found one of their machines at a 7-11 in my little town here but now I hesitate to use it. :? Pete

On the subject of Money, would it be better to get the cash out in Hua Hin rather then get it exchanged over here in England? Or would it be better to take TC's out with me? Rate I'm getting over here is 44.76baht to £1.00.

Never change it in England, you get the worst possible rates.

It's 46.95 from the ATM today and 46.45 for cash.

I personally take between £100-£200 to change at BKK Airport and use the ATM from then on.

That's up to the minute rates for all the banks. TT is the ATM rates.

Agreed but with hindsight now I'd change the lot at Swampy on arrival. I got over 48 to the pound there last week and it's been downhill ever since at the banks.

AND ANOTHER THING! Whats really peed me off is realising that I've been charged 1 pound stirling for every use of Lloyds debit card at Schipol. My fault - forgot to get Euros and they don't take stirling there any more - so had to use card every time for a few coffees. :banghead:
