F1 Pool
Re: F1 Pool
As some of you might have realised, there is a sense of tension in the Vital-handy, or Para-spark household at the moment. We were having a full and frank discussion about the league and Formula One in general, and, just as I was explaining to Ms Spark that I was a fully qualified engineer with some experience of competitive racing, she quietly said, "You won't catch me - I'm too good."
In that one sublime moment I realised what it is that makes her such a magnificent teacher.
Motivation.
I'm just going to have a quiet talk to my drivers...

Re: F1 Pool
Vital Spark, I have been in front for weeks and still cannot work out how I have done it. Good luck interesting finish to the season.
Woke up this morning breathing that's a good start to the day.
Re: F1 Pool
Some news articles are saying the Korean track has passed the test and been approved. Some articles are saying that the inspection continues today. SuperGuru has not yet listed any event.
If for some reason they don't include it, we'll hold a manual event for winner and #2-3, and fastest lap only. Pete

The Korean grand prix is on the superguru IKTS site so you will be able to make your picks as normal, good luck to all.

Great. I emailed them about it yesterday morning. Petelindosfan1 wrote:The Korean grand prix is on the superguru IKTS site so you will be able to make your picks as normal, good luck to all. Edited for omission

What a race! Rain delays, wet track, racing in the dark, Vettel's engine blows with 10 laps to go.
Alonso, Hamilton, Massa 1-2-3. Full results once SportGuru posts them. Pete

Re: F1 Pool
RZR, Richard, Randy, Lindosfan and Vital Spark all had the best race with 10 points. JJ Bones and TonyTequila were the only two to predict an Alonso win. Most of us bet the ranch on Webber and crashed as he did. Read an interesting comment, when was the last time a team was 1 and 2 in the starting positions and both didn't finish the race? Don't know the answer.
Overall ranking, Lindosfan remains 2 points in front of Vital Spark, 197-195. Pitsch is making a run and now in third with 189.
Next up is the Brazilian GP on November 7. Good luck to all! Pete

Anyone remember the races where they used to have a running start? All cars parked in a row along the side and drivers had to sprint, get in, start up and take off. Do they still do that in some races?
Maybe not practical for F1 if a machine is needed to turn the engines over, but it would make for more exciting racing. Pete

Yes indeed it is Le Mans. Could you imagine doing that in F1. By the time they had plugged all their bits and pieces in it would be dark...Anyone remember the races where they used to have a running start? Re: F1 Pool
Phew...a bit of a messy race there. I do feel a tad sorry for the Koreans with all the hard work they'd put in to get the race at the venue.
Mr.VS and I were in Rangoon/Yangon (whatever - wet and miserable) when I realised we had to make our picks. Luckily SportGuru was one of the sites we could access on the laptop, a lot of sites were blocked including gmail.
Mr. Button was not a happy chappy and had what appeared to be a major pout because his car wasn't doing what he wanted or expected it to do.
Well done RC in your scoot up the board, I'm just waiting for Lindos to go on a major bender, or has a senior moment, so he loses his 2 early-bird points.

Could make for an interesting Sunday afternoon..........
As if this world championship were not crazy enough already, Felipe Massa was on Thursday night threatened with a jail term of up to six years if he attempts to 'defraud’ Brazil’s sporting public by making way for Ferrari team-mate Fernando Alonso on Sunday.
