Accomodation on the pier

Post by matttrotman »

Hi. Does anyone have any info or advice they can give me on staying at one of the pier guesthouses? Any website links, rough prices for the end of April and reviews etc?

Many thanks for any help. The internet seems to be a little sparse with any info.

Thanks for the links Lev. I'm looking for guesthouses specifically on the pier as when I last visited they seemed to be the cheapest. Thanks again.

There are no guesthouses "on the pier", it is used for fishing.

These are in the vicinity though:

And this one is a central budget place:

Note: These are site sponsors and hence our recommendations; HHAD cannot be held responsible if the establishment does not answer its emails. Many of them still use Hotmail and Yahoo accounts which are notoriously unreliable, we have advised them against using these for business purposes.

There used to be a back-packer style guesthouse on the first of the piers from the Hilton end, before all the seafood restaurants that I think is still there.
I don't know the name, but it used to be one of the cheapest places in town.

Steve I know the place your are talking about and think it is called the Fulay Inn. They have a website. if you Google Fulay Inn you will find it on the 1st page of the search

Best of the pier conversions is probably the Sirima. We stayed there many times before getting our own place. Paid about B400 a night for an air-con en suite room with cable TV. Google it for the phone number.

Many years ago when I was a rock climber, we had a saying "Falling from a great height is like taking a cold shower. As long as you keep screaming it's not so bad".

Interesting replies. I've never had a warm shower yet since I moved to Thailand, and I can't say I miss it at all. If anything, a nice cold shower is something I value here
