Sportguru decided to screw around and fix a scoring system that wasn't broken, therefore I can't tell you anything at the moment.

They say they're fixing the scoring. More later when they do. Pete

OK, results now in. Richard, JJBones and Parahandy had the best race with 14 points each. BB, Paranhandy, JJBones, Pitsch and Pharvey all picked Vettel to win.

Vital Spark moves to within 1 point of Lindosfan. If she had listened to her better half, she would now be tied. :naughty: :P

With one race remaining we have a battle for the 3rd podium spot between Pitsch and JJBones, with Parahandy having an outside chance.

Next and last event of the season is the Abu Dhabi GP this coming weekend, November 14. Not much time to get across the pond and the cars into racing condition. We could see some upsets.

The last race is as it should be on the track deciding the champion, and in our little pool here deciding the champion. Good luck to all! Pete

Mr.VS knows far more about F1 than I do, my present position is possibly due more to luck than judgement. Saying that, I do read about pre-qualifying and make my picks based on gut instinct and knowledge.

How about this: If he gives me insider knowledge that enables me to leapfrog Lindos, or biffs someone off at the top, would that be allowed? Pete, do you have a bunch of 'experts' to make sure that no hanky-panky takes place?

Looking forward to the final race (but I don't want Alonso as champion).

 VS

PS: If I'd listened to my 'better half' I wouldn't be in second place...

This last race will be difficult to forecast. Alonso does not need to finish first, does he leave the others to fight for the first place they need and he sits behind them knowing he is safe. What will redbulls tactics be, they have won the constructors. Will VS pass me anybody got inside knowledge on what she will pick, coz if I pick the same I am ok.
Very interesting race.

All hanky-panky is allowable. Insider info, calls to drivers, cash contributions, nails on the track, whatever you decide. :thumb:

What Lindosfan mentions disturbs me though. I hope Alonso and any other driver tries to win and not simply block just to deny a good result for someone else. Cut throat professional sport though, just like most. Pete

Well,well, well...

Just made my picks (before Lindos, as I'm not cutting the grass because we're moving house in a couple of weeks  ) and we both have Hamilton as winner and fastest lap, and the same podium boys. The only difference is I have Hulkenburg in the points and he has Rosberg. Whichever way the race goes I can't win. :(

Ho, hum, may the best man win the world championship. It's so damned complicated with the all the permutations - if Alonso doesn't finish then Webber, Vettel and Hamilton are all in with a chance. Could be an interesting race.

I'll third that...

Boring race, but a superb result. It's nice to see someone win a championship and be truly happy (and surprised).

SportGuru haven't updated their website yet, but I guess that Lindosfan is the HHAD champion this year. Well done Lindos - your dog can now have a little rest until the next season.

It's been fun doing the F1 pool this year, it's the first time I've ever been involved in this kind of thing and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks Pete for setting up the whole thing and being a dutiful Captain.

Same again next year?

What a great result for F1! Vettel does it at the ripe old age of 23. I had forgotten how young some of these drivers are. I remember Pitsch saying at the beginning of the season to watch this man, and he was correct!

Congratulations to Lindosfan who finishes the season 2 points ahead of Vital Spark, 223 to 221. Lindosfan and I had the best race with 14 points, with Big Boy, Paranhandy and Pharvey picking Vettel to win. More importantly we have a 3 way tie for 3rd place podium honours; JJBones, Pitsch and Parahandy, all with 214 points. Very well done to them, and to everyone for a fun and competitive season.

Same time, same place next season. I'll keep an eye on things and set up the pool once it's announced and open. Thanks to everyone for playing. :thumb: Pete

Seriously good fun for a few months and hopefully some more fun next year.

Is there no prize then? I posted on the Currie Cup pool that for pools with more than 5 participants that the winner got something (not very much though). I seem to remember that it was free entry into a lottery where the prize was quite substantial.

Just went back and looked BB and only had this:

"Results are provisional
We're just resolving a few final queries and will confirm all pool positions and issue honours on Monday. Thanks for playing F1 with SportGuru this year!"

Will check back tonight or tomorrow to see what they're talking about. Only 2,661 players in F1 so quite small compared to other leagues. Pete
