I voted for McCoy simply because I really enjoy watching that Grand National style of race, and he finally did it after 15 years trying. A real test of man and horse.

At the bottom of the article they also say awards will be given for Team of the year, Coach of the year, and Lifetime achievement award. Would be interesting to find out who the candidates are for those. We may have some footballers in there. Pete

firstly, for years now he's been at the top of one of the most demanding & toughest sports going.

Mark Cavendish for me. Cycling involves great commitment and amazing fitness. The tour de france being cited as the toughest endurance sport of all time. Bar none...!

Its not really my sport, although it is prevalent in the area I live (and he does live locally). Sometimes you just have to recognise someone so exceptional.
