Welcome to the forum!

What kind of camera(s) do you use/have? I am interested in getting a dSLR and am looking for some input on the subject.

Photos at dawn out over the ocean with the rising sun and associated shadows/colours seems to be very popular. Fishing boats, skiffs and various sea related things in the background, as well as a girl posing in tight wrapped sarong. :naughty: They seem to sell well. I've got three hanging up (minus the girl) :D Welcome to the forum. Pete

I am using Nikon gear with a d700 as the prime camera and back up d80
There are alot of reputable makers out there from Nikon canon and pentax.
There are full frame sensors and smaller ones, with full frame like the D700 and canon D5 mk 22 being among them. Full frame means no crop factor on lens.and more expensive. consider buying on line from usa or HK
I think you have to ask what you will use the camera for before you buy it.
cheers don

Just out of my own curiosity, how far out to sea does the Palace exclusion zone go? I always had the thought that a photo at dawn from just outside the zone back towards the Palace with the morning sun lighting it up would make a great photo. I don't know if they would let you photograph though, even from outside the zone? Pete

Hi don and welcome if you are looking for an exotic location try the blue angel go down soi Bintabart turn right. :D

Or you could go up monkey mountain at dawn and look back at Hua Hin I think that's where they shoot the post cards from.

Also the big mountain west of HH, its easy to find. go up soi 88 and after the markwin lodge on your right about 1 k there will be a turn on your right, follow that to the top, at the crest of the hill turn right, and keep heading up the hill. when you get to the top there is a walkway to the west, follow it and there is 2 look outs over HH and the ocean makes a good pic cheers

I think the spot Jimmy refers to is signposted as 'Hin Lek Fai Viewpoint', Great views up there. I would take a ride out to Pak nam Pran and Dolphin Bay areas, intriguing views in that area.

NSW, nice one Don :)

I stayed there for 2 nights in a place on Webb St, many, many moons ago. Can't remember much about the place though due to Aussie hospitality (we were pissed out of our skulls) sorry. I expect it was a nice place though.
