Car Hire (again!)

Post by caller »

I can't use the HHAD linked page (don't know why) and I'm looking to pick up in either Bangkok or Korat in any case, to head up to Chumpuang/Phimai before dropping off in Hua Hin.

But what about types of cars, prices and insurance? I've not hired a car in LOS before.

I looked at Budget but they seemed OTT, but their quote did include 200b a day insurance, couldn't work out if that was 3rd party or for those in the car - does anyone know?

Got 3 quotes so far, all via the internet, for 14 days hire, one was 205 sterling for a Honda City, another was 235 for the same car and another was 221 for a Toyota Soluna - Both have AC and 1500cc engines. Anyone have a view of the better of the two, or are they much of a muchness?

But does anyone know how much I can expect to pay for insurance for those in the car? This has to be agreed via the rental Co. when I collect, rather than the broker, or does anyone know another way of getting cover?

Mnay thanks for any help.

hi there

I hired a Toyota Soluna for 5200 baht for 4 days that is about

The car was easy to drive and comfort was ok on a 2 hour none stop drive

the longer you hire the cheaper, but not sure if they let you pick up at bbk

They needed me to leave 5000 for insurance, which i got back because i did not crash.

PM me if you want more details.

as i not sure if i can give ad details here

Buksida,

I can get that page up okay, but then what? Is there another link? I just can't find it. I accept it could be at my end as I still can't view the internet 100% correctly.

Anyway, I had a very nice pm from them saying they can't help as they are HH based only.

Caller.

You click the "contact us" link which takes you to the enquiry form. Tried it yesterday, works fine also.

Can't find that! Clicked frantically at everywhere I thought it could logically be, but to no avail!!!

Its the same on the maps and entertainment guide. But the gap in the text makes it more obvious! For example, there's just a gap - for me - where "Blue Angel" should appear, but when I click, the name appears (in blue) and the link is made!!!

Any (polite) suggestions gratefully received!
