sky sports sexism

taking things out of proportion with kneejerk reactions imo :|

sexizzzm is another overused & misused word of the modern day.
yes it happens but keep it real :?
it was a bit of banter :?

there's a gym near me that has a huge notice stating ' women only' . . is that sexist??
& a local sports centre has a 'muslim women only swimming night' . . is that sexist & racist??

:banghead:

Oh the irony - Andy Gray complaining about someone not knowing the laws of the game!

Sexism, racism et al, we have more 'ism's than anyone. However, if the comments had been about her colour, they would have been sacked, so I guess its okay to have a pop at women? :?

Is it safe to assume Sky Sports verified that the women refs actually do know the offside rule before they took action against the broadcasters?

I hope they will replace him with someone who doesn`t suck up to Man U. When commentating he refers to "Wayne" "Rio" and "Ryan" like he is their best friend. Is he as qualified a referee as the girl in question, or qualified at all? His style of play was all route 1 and kick lumps out of the opposition. Not a great loss to tv football.

I do rather get the impression they wanted him out.

First, they released a 2nd vid of him making comments about the same lino with another reporter and he's warned about his conduct. Then today, more footage with him making 'innuendo' with a female colleague who blanks him, so he's sacked!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/9373280.stm

I have to say, with the one above, that would cause serious problems where I work, if reported or witnessed by anyone.

Mr. Keys must be feeling nervous?

However, I do think some of those preaching about this should keep quiet. Rio Ferdinand, he of using women when 'dogging' saying Gray's behaviour was disrepectful to women and not acceptable in this day and age and also Karen Brady (Director at West Ham) and well known associate of Mr. Sullivan, the UK's leading soft-porn king and West Ham Director, and all that entails for women, bleating about how she was staggered by Gray's comments.

Maybe Gray got them from reading her bosses top shelf magazines?

massive over reaction but not really surprising in todays climate

the poor assistant ref & work colleague in question will surely need counselling now
perhaps they'll get compensation & get to write a book about their horrific ordeal . . . FFS

I do not think it is correct that a corporation sacks somebody for airing views in private. Had he known his remarks were being made public then that is a different matter

I hope Sky make a real statement of intent now to show that Football is not stuck in the dark ages and appoint a knowledgeable, highly educated Female as one of their main Anchors.

Preferably one with big tits.
