Well, in Paknampran I get a good haircut, shave and shoulder massage for 50 baht - but I don't suppose that's much good to you

A short back and sides is probably the best you'll get in town.
Try 3rd floor Market Village, some pricey looking hairdressing places there

Ok its done already, here is the short version of the events: the place called Pro Cut, on the 3'rd floor of Market Village, the price is 350 baht, when I asked who gonna cut my hair, they actually woke up some Thai guy that was sleeping in the corner, I would describe him as a mix of fisherman and motorbike taxi driver, you get the idea. Anyway I asked him to cut short and fast, as I needed to go to gym,so he did, in kinda unconventional way, and I needed to ask him to fix what he done once or twice, plus his hair clipper jammed few times..:-) All in all, good old Thai rip off. The result is not that bad, but its not a good experience overall for that price.

Hairdressers in Thailand are more frequent than 7/11s, and it's always a good idea to creep outside the touristy areas to get a great head massage and a decent cut.

Even in Nakhon Pathom the hairdressers near the university dormitories are quite a bit more expensive than those just out of town (most of the students have money to burn). The last time I had a wash/cut/blow dry it was 80 baht (50 baht for just a wash/blow dry). I guess the rental costs for any unit in Market Village is going to be sky-high, and the prices just reflect that.

Meow: Next time try a shop somewhere the other side of the railways tracks. You might have a pretty young lady do the washing and massage bit and it'll probably cost you half the price. Most of them will try and cut the style you want, but you have to guide them as they do it.

@Barry: Definitely will go Paknampran if ever decide on skinhead..:-)

@Vital Spark: 100 or 400 is the last concern when you I want to look good, but more important is satisfaction and good feeling.

P.S. Pretty young ladies on the other side of the tracks? Sounds so unlike Hua Hin..:-) Need to make a trip to the dark side(that what they would call it in Pattaya).

Trouble with haircuts is you don't knoiw if its good until 2-3 weeks later when it grows in.
VS is right, cross the tracks and prices drop for everything. I pay 60 for a better haircut than I get in Canada for equivalent 550.
