Hi I'm new!
Hi I'm new!
Just saying hi!!!
I'm an Aussie chick who visited Hua Hin last year with my partner and 2 kiddies, we loved it so much we decided to come back this October to get married!
It's only going to be a very small celebration with immediate family and a few close friends. I'm hoping to find everything I need to put our wedding together on here!

Re: Hi I'm new!
Thanks guys!
Because of how small the celebration is going to be I decided to steer clear of the resort packages- mostly because they require 30+ guests and we won't have anything like that!
I contacted Terrace 90 yesterday about my options with booking out a big table, and she (I'm presuming she!) was so helpful- so I think the reception is sorted.
I'm looking at a package for the ceremony through a company called Phuket-discovery, who do weddings in a few different locations around Thailand- but I'd rather find my own photographer than use theirs. I'd like something more artistic than what theirs looks to be, hopefully I hear back from "Fatboy" on here, he looks like he knows what he's doing!!

G'day Dubchick
I am trying to convince my friend to take his wife and 2 kids (5 and 8 ) to go HuaHin next year cos its also close to BKK.
where did you stay and would you recommend it as kid friendly?
I have been to Terrace 90, plenty of space and well presented.

Also Dubchick
be aware of public holidays when Hua hin seems to gridlock with Bangkok weekend trippers.
it did last October but i am sure the locals can comment.
Monday, October 24, 2011 – Chulalongkorn Day
A substitution public holiday because this year Chulalongkorn Day falls on a Sunday.. King Chulalongkorn was a modernizing monarch who is credited with saving Thailand’s independence during a period of Western imperial expansion. His picture often appears in shops, next to those of the present royal family.

We travel from to Hua Hin on the 3rd, then back up on the 18th or 19th. So hopefully should miss all the really crazy traffic- as opposed to the regular crazy traffic you guys have!!
Re: Hi I'm new!
Awesome, thanks heaps for that! I'm not sure how long I have to be a member before I can start PMing people, but as soon as I can I'll get in touch with them properly.

Re: Hi I'm new!
We stayed in a really basic place called the Nilawan Guesthouse- soi 69 i think? It was kid friendly, except the fact that the shower wasn't enclosed so the bathroom was always wet- no big deal though!
It was clean, 1250THB for a family room with a double bed and 2 twin beds, shared pool with the other guesthouses in the street - where you could drink your own beer or they'd bring out those pineapple icey drinks with double shots of Vodka in them
oh and it was close to the beach with a bar/ cafe on it, where while my partner and I drank beer (or those pineapple icey drinks with double shots of vodka in them hehe) the 4 year old played in the sand, and the 7 year old was taken on horse riding lessons by the same guy everyday!
The kids definitely had a great time, and when the kids are happy mum and dad are happy!!
We're staying there again for half our trip then will be moving to the Amara Inn resort, it has minigolf and a playground too, more expensive and I can't say what it's like and whether its kid friendly yet, but I'd presume so considering it has a playground!
