Just seen on TNA that a new tourist site has been discovered in the upper reaches of Pratchuap province.
Apparantly, it's of an old warriors' passage between Burma and Thailand at Singkhorn Checkpoint, the narrowest point of Thailand. It seems development is already underway to turn it into a "major" tourist attraction that will welcome both Thai and foreign visitors.
Unless I've got it wrong, isn't this where the border crossing is supposed to be? Maybe the development that people have spoken about in the past is just for the tourist potential, not for visa runs?
