Blimey, a North London one-two! Two great games, two great results.

Barca are special but not invincible, as tonight proved.

Will both Nth London teams finish the job?

Cracking game tonight, two nice finishes from Arsenal, they've given themselves a great chance but I personally think Barca will have too much for them at the Nou Camp, Messi certainly won't play as badly.

It's going to be a must watch game anyway, I can't wait.

Spurs are as good as through IMO. Milan looked very poor and I think Spurs will batter them at WHL.

great comeback & great result :D  :D

yes, it's only half time & it's gonna take a huge effort at the nou camp.
sagna will be back, possibly the verminator too, & they'll be missing pique, their defensive lynchpin.

but . . . . . they still have messi :banghead: (does he ever get injured? :? )

so . . . we have a chance :|

as for the spuds, i think they'll go through without to many problems :|

After 30 minutes I was beginning to worry, but in Arsene we trust. The panel of "experts" (Allardyce, Souness and Sherwood) at half time all agreed that the game was over and Wenger would be too stubborn to change the system. Allardyce was asked what he would do in Wenger`s place, strangely enough getting in their faces and kicking them off the park wasn`t the response I was expecting. To be fair the Barcelona way of playing is, like Arsenal`s, pretty to watch but the final stats showed the shots on goal and on target were similar for both teams. The aura of invincibility has been dropped but I still worry about the reurn match. But you never know.

Altho I feel sick saying it - but well done the Arse 8)

Just quickly back to Crouch / Spurs and 'Arry

Personally, I have never been a great fan of Crouch - I simply don't feel that putting a tall guy in the middle and lobbing balls at him is the way to go - just a personal thing I guess.

Having said that - he has grown on me with his performances this season - and not just by using his height. The game with Milan on Tuesday night being a case in point.

Not long after 'Arry took over at Spurs he quoted something like.........

'Crouchy........
Pete brings a different dimension to the game - literally.
He is my secret weapon.
He's my Plan 'B'
That's why I bought him..........Twice!!!!!'

Kind of sums it up I guess

I'd like to add to Terry's post about Crouch, I thought he had the game of his career against Milan. He was a constant thorn in their side, getting in amongst the defence and irritated them no end but didn't once shirk from their constant intimidation and whinging. He really put himself about and worked tirelessly throughout - and scored the goal. Superb performance.

Agree with that, he was fantastic. He had a little bit of extra 'umph' in him for that game due to the dissapointment of being left out the Liverpool side when they lost to Milan the second time round. Having been top scorer (for Liverpool) in the Champions league that year you can understand the disspointment at not being picked and he wanted to show how he fared up against the Italians.

Good win for Arsenal but I fear that away goal is going to get them in the return leg. The way I see it is Arsenal HAVE to score or there out - Barca will get at least one back home.
If it's within arms reach, there's nothing to worry about!!

Nothing much to say, the best team won, however the second best team could have won if Van Persie was still on the pitch and been given the opportunity offered to Bendtner at the end. Not bitter though!

Agreed, that was obvious and it could have been worse. However, it was very disappointing that v. Persie received the second yellow for what he did. Not really worth a card, as most would agree. In the first half someone crabbed his throat, which went totally unpunished.

Then again, Barca could have easily scored a few more goals but it would have been a different ending.

I see you're hedging your bets with the CHELS v MAN U match BaaBaa, hard to call that one. I'm assuming that is, that the teams you put in block capitals are your pricks? :D

Now I'm not gonna stick my neck out on this one, buuuut no-one will be able to say we didn't deserve it after beating Inter Milan, AC Milan, the real Madrid, Barcelona then Chelsea at Wembley in the final, there's been easier routes.

Obviously Chelsea in a final at Wembley isn't an issue, we've always beat them in Wembley finals, just as we've always beat the Arse in every single competitive match at Wembley, it was the top game I've ever been to, better than cup finals, but I'm fearing deep down it could be all over bar the shouting, come final whistle at the BernieInn, in Madrid. But what a trip that'll be for the dustbinlids, never had the good fortune to experience anything like that :(

We all know our modern history, so a bit of ancient doesn't hurt now and then.
**you're allowed to use your left hand too, David**

Never been to a better game since, and that was 20 years ago next month, says it all really
But I'll settle for that one :D
I've got no choice really

Half Time

Real Madrid 1 Spurs 0

Crouch managed two successive yellows for sliding tackles - the first maybe deserved but the second was a bit dubious - so a red followed

Adebeyor's goal was good. Spurs were wide open

Nice to se that Ronaldo has not lost his ability to dive - there were at least two of them in the first half. :banghead: :banghead:

Bale - whilst playing - is not on his usual form, despite a good break with Van Der Vart.

Oh well - down to 10 men and a goal down away from home

Suppose it doesn't get much better!

Hope 'Arry's got some arftime magic - it sure is needed
