They replay it every day so you don't have to watch it live...

My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

I don't watch TV. Got all the gear and dish but it's just not me. Don't want too become a couch potato to early in life
I like movies and music and can do that easily with my laptop and earphones so as not to disturb anyone else in the vicinity
I do love sport but for a special event I'd rather go to a bar with some real atmosphere than sit at home watching with a TV dinner and a beer. With P2P I can watch some sports that will no doubt be screened somewhere the next day but I find by the time I get to the venue to watch it somebody has told me the result

McIlroy 'came home in an ambulance'. What a shame. Schwartzel, Day and Scott were all terrific. Woods did well to be up there. Wonder if he'll ever fully recover his A game? Loved Donald's chip in at the last.

I do love sport but for a special event I'd rather go to a bar with some real atmosphere than sit at home watching with a TV dinner and a beer.
Yes, to each his own... I'm just the opposite. If I'm really interested in a sporting event (like the major golf tournaments), I'd rather watch at home alone or with one or two like minded fans where I can control the volume, lighting, air conditioning, and the price of food and drink.Each to our own I suppose
The last time I watched an important sporting event at a bar, I caught about one third of it as most of the other patrons were there more to socialize than to pay attention, and the environment was noisy and hot... I found it hard to keep track of what was going on in the game.
I saw literally every televised shot of the final two days of the Masters in a cool comfortable home theater on an HD big screen. Could even pause (PVR) when I had to get up to go to the can or make a drink or snack and fast forward through commercials! If you are a true fan, that's the way to watch a sporting event if you can't be there live...

I actually agree with you IF you are in a pub, bar, or restaurant that is full of fans supporting a team, like a club bar. Then, the atmosphere is almost like being at the game as everyone is cheering the team on and toasting their victories, but this is rare here. What you usually have here is the game on a TV somewhere in the background with the sound down and insane music playing while the majority of the patrons are not really interested in the game or match.... very distracting for someone who really wants to follow the action including the commentary.

Whenever I went to a game in the States, namely soccer and baseball, the crowd seemed more interested in the tailgate parties than the waft and wift... or is it weft and wuft... anyway... My Floridian family came to the UK and stayed with me during a soccer World Cup. England were playing Argentina. The buggers didn't have a clue and wouldn't shut up. I sternly ordered them to shut up or never darken my door again.

There are bars that focus on live sport and certainly it is not a background event with music playing full blast. Johnny Walkers, Bernies, Jungle Juice, Sports bar (soi 80) to name but a few. Of course the time factor is there and I know from your postings you're not a night owl. I'm no longer a night owl so invariably watch sport using P2P on my computer but for the really big events will watch bleary eyed in an appropriate bar
