The Thailand Photo Thread
Re: The Thailand Photo Thread
Prcscct,
The far one is coming, has a deckhand at the bow. The near one is going and you can see dual prop wash. All inboard motors, no long-tails here. Boats pass according to standard navigation rules of keeping to starboard and slow down to minimise bow spray. Being a narrow channel the chop can be considerable as boats cross other boats wakes.

Also went to Chiang Mai in October and went for early morning bike rides (6-7 am) in and around the city. A city waking up is an interesting place to observe. Ever seen a dog on a temple wall? Was he preaching to the lower dogs?
Visited the Jade Buddha Wat and watched the morning monk clean many Buddhas.
I thought this old chap actually lived on this tricycle. He was just getting up after the photo was taken to have breakfast.
outside the Thae Pae gate was this little pub. Looked better in the morning than at night.
While I went to some fancy restaurants in CM I would have like to try the Yellow bird Cafe. Very laid back
Finally a shot of the Sunday night markets in the centre of CM. Quite a sight.

This is one of the lakes on the way to Pala U waterfall. It's a serene part of the world!

Love the b/w shot of the lakes and clouds.
Here are a few of a huge teak Buddha on a big rig in preparation for Songkran festivities at a local Wat.

It makes a big diff, this recently taken pic I like but it was shot with a mobile phone and tweaked a bit so the sharpness and clarity is nowhere near what you'd get with an SLR.
What actually looks like a paint job on the tank is in fact the reflection of the ocean, some palm trees and a setting sun!Who is the happier man, he who has braved the storm of life and lived or he who has stayed securely on shore and merely existed? - Hunter S Thompson

Managed to get this Tokay to pose for me - captured with one of those basic point-and-shoot cameras, nothing fancy.
Here is a local attraction you'll need a big zoom lens for ...
