Cant agree with you there,Jimmy.
Other than Messi's fantastic second goal the first leg in the Bernabeu was one of the direst matches of the season with diving, cheating, all round histrionics and precious little football.
True the second leg was OK but the tie was over by then.
Odds on a final between the two Spanish sides would be similar to the first game.
And if the draw had have been different whose to say that United and Barca wouldnt have still ended up contesting the final.....assuming it was United v Real,Barca v Shalke.
I can only think that your judgement has been clouded by worries about your beloved Spurs who now look likely to miss out on not only Champions League qualification but also the UEFA League slot to Liverpool. :blues:

Not really as it was on the cards a long time ago, inability to score and break down stubborn defences. A striker in the transfer window was required, there was talk of Suarez and Carroll before liverpool got onboard, a big mistake not buying, 1 win in the last 8 league games not top 4 form. I blame the strikers. Defoe 3 goals and Crouch 4 goals all season.

As regards the Europa, personnally I would prefer that they don't qualify.

Wow, ONE season in the Champs League and Spuds are to big for the Europa, yep, it's a real drag being in another cup competition.

You can just play the kids/second string and give them valuable experience, it's hardly a burden and provides extra income.

There was some big clubs in it this year.

Nah, impossible to play the whole second string. First string players get mingled in there and when you travel to places like Belarus etc it's a burden. I would prefer that they concentrate wholly on surprising everyone and getting the title next year once they get some firepower and keeping the best of the players we currently have. :D :D :thumb:

Let hope we make it 8. I well remember every year the talk that we hadn't won at Anfield for 60 then 70 years etc :D

Two great minds think alike :D

Redknapp has admitted he would prefer it if Spurs do not qualify for the Europa League so that they can concentrate on finishing in the top four next season.

(What he really means is win the title!)

That's open to debate

You probably said that about the chance of us taking 4 points off you this season and winning on your turf to boot! :guns:

That's the first time I've seen "Great minds" and "Redknapp" in the same sentence.

Well he is the top English manager in the Premiership after all. You cannot seriously believe a team would not want to qualify for a European competition. Even `Arry was happy to play in the Inter Two Bob Cup, his description of the Inter Toto Cup, some years back.
