Are you seriously questioning if possibly the greatest player EVER doesn't quite cut it because he'd be a shit centre half or goalkeeper?
He'd still be better than Arsenals keepers and he's about 5'4.
That Thierry Henry lad was a rubbish fullback, not in the same league as Ashley Cole.
After your sarcasm and self-congratulatory laughter smily you completely missed the point, of course Messi is the best forward/midfielder as I already said. Naturally you have to put Liverpool/Gerrard somewhere in your post even though they had no connection with this year`s competition, or next year`s come to that.
A keeper is never going to be classed as the best player in the game.
I mentioned Gerrard as at his peak he was the best alround player going IMHO, but the likes of Kaka won the awards because they did a few more tricks and flicks.
I also mention Gerrard as he has won the competition, unlike Arsenal.

You mentioned Gerrard because you are fixated on all things Liverpool.

Cheer up Big Boy, at least you`ve got a derby against Torquay to look forward to. When did that last happen?
Fortunately, I never get down about football. When you've supported the Green Army as long as I have, you know that some seasons are going to be crap, while other seasons are going to be fantastic. It's just unfortunate that there have been 3 crap seasons on the bounce this time
European trophies my good man. 0 in your case. 3rd in the all time rankings.
Not true, I was there when we won the Inter Cities Fairs Cup. And did you know that according to FA calculations Arsenal were the most successful club in the 1900`s.
