The FIFA debacle and Blatter

Any comments welcome on this developing joke of a situation. It all smacks of corruption and nepotism.

The football world is completely dirty (which most could guess at already) and has now been highlighted as so despite that speech from Blatter in French today, arrogant prick imo.

Having an election with only one contestant is farce. The English Fa has been slapped today by the 'vote', which resembles an alumni gathering, for having the temerity to suggest that there should be change, or at least postponement of such vote.

I understand that the English FA is not popular in other parts of FIFA and even Platini (well he's French), that doesn't like Blatter, doesn't like the English FA/Premiere league for reasons like it's popularity and the amounts of money/debt involved etc.

Time for Blatter to go imo, get someone knew, worse than a Central African country having an election. Maybe Coca Cola/Addidas have more influence than most as they pump in millions to the game and appear to have been grumbling a bit recently.

Apologies if this one is going on elsewhere, was a little surprised to not find a thread on it somewhere.

It was tagged onto the 2018 World Cup thread. The major sponsors are not prepared to be too agressive as FIFA have a history of cancelling contracts, so Coca Cola could lose out to Pepsi and Adidas to Puma or Nike. Also they have been happy to play along with this corrupt organization for years without complaint because it suited them. Platini (UEFA) has supported Blatter in his anti-English stance for years. If UEFA pulled out of FIFA the whole organization would collapse as all the money is generated in Europe. This won`t happen because the "suits" are living the life of luxury at the expense of football.

The problem is that if they get a reformist in charge, he or she is likely to completely change the system. The current system has too many people representing tin pot nations who are making quite a pay day out of the corruption.

Basically, too many people have too much to lose - nothing at all to do with football.

Our own FA needs sorting out first, they're a bunch of useless tw**s.
Get some real football men in charge & then cancel our FIFA membership.

Other nations will soon follow suit & maybe then something constructive will get done.

Has anybody told him that 2 FIFA executive members have just been suspended, pending an inquiry for corruption & the 3rd executive member who enforced the suspensions has just 'won' an unchallenged 'election' to continue as FIFA president . . .you couldn't make it up

Henry is just the man to sort out these elderly,corrupt,tired old men who run FIFA,which desperately needs young blood in its ranks with fresh ideas.
