WOW! I just watched the best four rounds of golf ever played by a player in a major championship! The statisticians will be up all night figuring out how many records were set by Rory Mcllroy of Northern Ireland. Not only did he win handily with the lowest score to par (and I think) the biggest lead ever in a major, he went wire to wire and played a better than perfect round except for 3 bogeys and 1 double (if memory serves). It was amazing to watch.

Congrats to Rory and Northern Ireland (for producing the winner of the U.S. Open 2 years in a row!) :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Tiger may be injured and out for a while but I think there is a new lion in golf and his name is Ro(a)ry!
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Rory has shown the golfing world something very special, unbelievable golf and an on course manner which is equally as good, no loss of temper (obviously easy when your striping every shot!) and just enjoyed himself.

Yes, wasn't it an absolutely amazing performance - to come back so quickly after his meltdown at the Masters just over 2 months earlier shows fantastic maturity for someone who's only just turned 22.

This mean's he's dominated 7 of the 8 rounds of major championship golf so far this season.

Following Graham McDowell and Padraig Harrington, it means one small island of barely 5 million people has now won 5 majors in the last 4 years - makes me proud!!!

Scottish - he'll lose again to some unknown or another! :D

The best chance of an Englishman winning in recent history was Roger Taylor in 1973 and he wilted at the very end. You could smell his fear of failure - I know, I was near enough! The pressure was too much :(
