The World Cup 2014

Post by caller »

This one should run and run!

A tough draw for Thailand, a reasonable one for England. As for the rest of the Home Countries, the US, Oz (fiddle), all will aspire to do well in Brazil...

Does it matter who England draws? They have no chance to even make the final four. No doubt Gooney will develop a hangnail.

Besides the football, the stories coming out of Rio will be interesting to say the least. It's a damn dangerous city and every friend and family member who has visited there has tales to tell about attempted purse snatching, thefts from their hotel room etc. One Italian friend who went there on business took his portable espresso machine with him   , and sure enough it was stolen from his locked hotel room. I think no jewelry, hidden pockets and tying all purses/fanny packs to your body will be the order of the day. Pete

Well, looking at this, Brazil has an awful lot of work to do to be ready.

Apparantly, the airports are pretty poor as well?

For us Thailand folks. ESPN has the rights to the 2014 cup. However, Fox outbid ESPN and has been awarded rights for the 2018 and 2022 games. So, if we're still alive and well when the time comes, we won't be seeing anything here in 2018-22 unless Fox expands it's broadcasting here, or by that time some other satellite company offers more than what TRUE currently does.
