Only just realised Spurs' first 2 games are United away and City at home. Should be interesting.

I wouldn't worry about it BaaBaa. Sure it's nice to have a romping, stomping victory on week 1 like Bolton did, but real patterns aren't going to emerge until October IMO. Pete

Yup, early days. Played well 1st half, not so much 2nd, but we've also got half a new team.
Will take a few games to bed in.
Downing is twice the player I thought he was though, well impressed.
Luis is just Luis, my favourite player, the mad, erratic, psycho, nutter! Most exciting player in the league for me.

Re: Premier League 2011-2012
I read that Fabregas is willing to give up his loyalty bonus to be able to join Barc. LOYALTY ffs.
A couple of weeks ago I was almost convinced that Joey Barton was a reformed character and he would be a bonus for any club, but same old same old. Just a yellow card? Referees demand respect, they should earn it.

That's old news mate & the fact is, he's been told he has to give up his bonus.Arcadian wrote:I read that Fabregas is willing to give up his loyalty bonus to be able to join Barc. LOYALTY ffs.
A/ for not being loyal

B/ otherwise he's going nowhere

Song on Barton

Barton on Gervinho was either a yellow or red for each, not one red & one yellow

Barton's reaction to the slap was embarassing

The best thing is, Gervinho was clipped & it was a penalty!!

Most experienced ref in the league is Peter Walton . . . one of the worst as well

Please sir, please sir,the ref didn't give us 3 points. all we did was stamp on a player and then later hit him and we got punished for it!!!!
Didn't hear you whinging so much when Eduardo took a blatent dive

We didn't deserve 3 ptsbubbly wrote:Please sir,please sir,the ref didn't give us 3 points.

As i stated,or didn't you read it correctly?all we did was stamp on a player and then later hit him and we got punished for it!!!!
No argument on the red card(s) but Barton manhandled Gervinho (before he fell down like a big girls blouse

As for Taylor . . well his 'no comment' & embarassing silence in the after match interview tells it's own story

Eduardo dived alright but he's gone & that's history.
Just about every player in the prem takes a dive these days when the opportunity is there.
Unfortunately it's part of the modern game & not exclusive to foreign players either.

Re: Premier League 2011-2012
Barton grabs Gervinho and drags him off the ground cos he dived. He didn't strike him!!! He got booked for it. Correct decision. Gervinho slaps Barton and yes he went down easily and made a meal of it but you cant strike another player!!! Red card, correct decision. Its too easy to jump on the"but its Joey Barton" bandwagon. If it was anyone else, would there be such an outcry????? I don't think so.

He manhandled him & dragged him up off the floor in an aggressive action, frothing at the mouth & tv replays show quite clearly Gervinho was fouled = no divebubbly wrote:Barton grabs Gervinho and drags him off the ground cos he dived. He didn't strike him!!! He got booked for it. Correct decision.

To make matters worse, the ref didn't even see any of it & the linesmans view must have been obscured by the players, hence he got the red for Barton's reaction & Taylors theatrical elbow insinuation

Unprofessional & pathetic the pair of them.

As for Gervinho, silly boy for getting involved
Slaps?Gervinho slaps Barton and yes he went down easily and made a meal of it but you cant strike another player!!!

He barely made contact

. . . but if Barton didn't go down like a girl & Taylor didn't bear false witness, would Gervinho have got a red . . . . .

Be honest bubbly, he doesn't do himself any favours does he?Its too easy to jump on the"but its Joey Barton" bandwagon. If it was anyone else, would there be such an outcry????? I don't think so.
Good player but a liability & a nasty piece of work to boot

Re: Premier League 2011-2012
Kinda like Joey Barton, despite his past. Not singling out Gervinho as it was his debut but Barton only did what we've all felt like doing many times.

A moron & a bullyBaaBaa. wrote:Kinda like Joey Barton, despite his past.

Youtube is full of his cowardly attacks & challenges, not a great role model

You've lost me there, video replays show quite clearly Gervinho was clipped. Not singling out Gervinho as it was his debut but Barton only did what we've all felt like doing many times.
Even that most partisan of barcodes (Shearer)on MOTD thought it was a pen

Whatever , it didn't deserve a reaction like Barton's
