Haha, you should know better BaaBaa then to bet on Everton at the beginning of the season. Re: Premier League 2011-2012
Looking forward to the game tonight. My shoddy internet is up and down again so I'm gonna have to sit in an internet cafe to watch it (can't risk going down to a bar to watch it - 'say bye bye to working tomorrow' ) Hope we put up a good fight. If United allow us to move the ball about even a smidgen of what Hearts did (we really were awesome to watch in that game) we may be in for a chance. If we lose then I at least get some points on the IKTS as I'm using that as my consolation prize. COYS

Modric did not refuse to travel!
'Arry left him out of the squad as the poor dear is 'unsettled' by Chelseas overtures, as well as a rumoured new bid of 30m, seemingly following on from 'Arry's change of heart about selling him.

Well, what seemed a close game ended up as shooting practice for the Mancs.
'Arry will need to invest Modrics 30m wisely!

Yes, it was 0-0 at the half and I take a look a bit later and it's 3-0.

Ah well....
We played well in the first half and kept United contained for the most of it. The second half we were simply mauled by a far better team than us. Gotta say if ya look at the age of this years united and the quality of these guys I can;t see em getting knocked off the perch for a good long while. Before the season kicked off I predicted Chelsea Champions but after watching the 2 teams I'm not so sure now. Early days yet of course but that 2nd half was the best performance so far from any team. It really was beautiful football. Just a shame spurs were on the end of it.

Nice post IMHO, I agree with pretty much all of it, just hope that if Mato and Modric join the Blues, it will give us some much needed spark. We're a bit one-dimensional at the mo!GLCQuantum wrote:Ah well....

Up until Welbecks goal I didnt think it was such a great game but then Spurs just capitulated and United ran riot.
I thought Jones and Evans were again excellent deputising at the back for United and Young was their most potent force upfront.
Friedel was Spurs best player and I think they were lacking something on the night.....and not just Modric.
Guys like Defoe,in particular, and Lennon and Bale looked shadows of what they used to be not so long ago.
Anyway, good luck to Arsenal in Europe tonight....hope they can pull off a decent result.

Spurs have secured Adebayor on a loan deal after agreeing to pay a larger percent of his salary.
Good news I think. He's a proven 20+ a year goalscorer which is what we've been lacking for quite some time. Lets hope he makes a difference.
Unfortunately City won't allow him to play for this Sunday's clash.

He's never scored 20 in a season ever, as far as i'm aware, his best return for us was 16.
Good player, but comes with plenty of baggage

The loaning of players within the same league is actually quite farcical, enforced by the league itself.Unfortunately City won't allow him to play for this Sunday's clash.

He can play against & damage the prospects of all the rival teams, but not his own

Man sheiky could possibly loan out 5 or 6 experienced players & effectively be playing with 16/17 players every week

Re: Premier League 2011-2012
Sorry, I thought he'd been knocking in more than that TBH. Still better than the return we get from some of our strikers though. Can't be arsed to look it up but I don't think any of our guys hit double figures in the premier league last year. I may be wrong (again) though. He's never scored 20 in a season ever, as far as i'm aware, his best return for us was 16.

I'll look it up then:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emmanuel_Adebayor
Actually scored 30 goals in 2007-2008 for Arsenal - 24 in the league

Wiki's maths don't quite add up though, it should read 142 games & 62 goals

Still not a prolific striker, but a good addition if he doesn't upset the apple cart
