Do you still start threads?

Post by Spitfire »

OK, just interested on the consensus in general with this one.

Have you been here so long that you are simply an information database or are you just arriving and want to know what the expats think?

Are you reactionary or proactive on this one?

Are you beyond such frivolities such as starting threads and only dish out words of wisdom?

If you have more than one account on this forum.........then forget it and don't reply.

I've certainly noticed that there are those that start threads and those that just reply.

What section are you? And why?

Added a poll for fun.

For me, still post threads but think about it more these days than the recklessness of a couple of years ago.

I'm on a steep learning curve getting ready for next year. If I can't find an answer on the forum, and there is no existing thread, I'll most certainly ask the question. Therefore I voted Yes, I need to know stuff still

Yes, a forum is only as good as what people put into it. The ideas don't come as often as they used to these days but the light bulb does still go on from time to time. Back on the "what do you use the forum for" thread I mentioned that my primary reason for being here is to learn about Thailand and to offer whatever experiences I've had to others. That remains true today and probably will be true forever. None of us will ever know enough about this strange place we call home. Pete

My vote also, although I'm farther out than Big Boy from retirement :banghead:

I do still make stupid one-liners sometimes though, so sorry to all

I voted for wanting to know other peoples point of view

I was always taught 'you never learn whilst your mouth is open'. So often we have fixed views and we are convinced we are right, but sometimes a fresh view convinces us we are not.

So I use the forum as an information centre and as a sounding board for ideas etc

Started a couple today!

I start them for several reasons: either I read something interesting in the news or on another site and post it to see what others think about it, or I need help or advice so I start a thread to get help fixing something or finding a business or repair person, or I find a new business here myself that I feel is worth mentioning to the rest of the forum.

... and then occasionally, when I'm feeling totally frustrated about something, I start one just to rant a bit...
