Re: The "Over 50's" marriage ban
And another interesting view point can be read by Googling >>> Australia says NO – Second Time she has done this!

Its not just HH where expats get the urge to whine, you should hear them in Dubai. Brummies who were penniless at home bitching because the maid wants a day off and the gardener was 5 minutes late. Mr Plum got it right, go home and remind yourself why you left home. This is a way above average place to be. Enjoy it.

Re: The "Over 50's" marriage ban
An interesting perspective and somewhat off topic, but most of the people I know who left the UK (or anywhere else for that matter) didn't do so to 'run away' from some perceived nastiness in their homeland. They left to seize an opportunity that was offered, and their world simply became larger than the UK. In my case I left in 1993 for a job offer in Central Europe. Staying outside the UK came simply through being offered jobs, all over the map and choosing to take them. Ultimately an economic decision to stay in (particularly) Germany, I suppose, but I'm not sure of what it is you feel I would be reminding myself.
That said, of course, I absolutely know what you mean when referring to whining expats!

Had enough of the trolls. Going to sleep. I may be some time....

Well if your too old to marry a Thai, you will have to cook your own dinner won't you.
The perfect roast beef
Serves 6
3lb 5oz/1.5kg Tesco Lotus 21-day slow matured joint of beef
1 tbsp olive oil
Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
1/3 pint/200ml beef stock
Splash red wine
1 tsp redcurrant jelly
Preheat oven to 200C/400F/ gas mark 6. Or lecky equivalent
Remove all packaging from the beef and calculate the cooking time (see pack). It will be in Thai
Lightly brush olive oil over the beef and season with the salt and black pepper.
Place beef on the middle shelf of the oven and cook for the calculated time, basting occasionally with the juices.
Remove meat from the pan, place it on a carving dish, cover with foil and leave to rest in an warm place for 10 minutes. This is important as it allows the meat to relax.
Place the roasting tin on the hob and add the stock, red wine and redcurrant jelly, stirring well to remove all the caramelised bits stuck to the base. Bring to the boil and allow to reduce slightly.
Of course you will need 5 mates to join you

Some have said from a man's perspective marriage should be against the law anyway. Child support is a given but alimony from a western point of view is a good reason to keep away from marriage. Over 50 marriage ban should be extended to over 18. New to Hua Hin.

Sometimes, it's amazing that any marriages work considering how many hurdles are placed in front of them these days, not just here but back in the west too.
