8 goals against manure - that's barely a flesh wound when compared to the injuries inflicted by the Japs on the Green Army.

Big Boy,
Macc Town have just signed a striker from non league Fleetwood Town called George Donnelly.
He's ex Plymouth.....is he any good ?
Apparently last season Fleetwood prised him away from Plymouth by offering him higher wages !

The fact they offered him wages at all would have been enough.

He obviously played in the Championship, but was no great shakes there. However, at the lower level, he could be an asset. Certainly better than anything the Green Army has now, because they don't have a striker - those they had all walked when they realised that they had to play for the love of the game. There's better pay in the local Sunday League - at least they get half an orange at half time.

At last, a light at the end of the tunnel, and it doesn't seem to be a train coming in the other direction http://www.thisisplymouth.co.uk/Council ... story.html .

The Green Army's tale of woe started when they purchased their own ground - until then, they were one of the few clubs in the UK being run at a profit. It was ownership of the prime Plymouth real estate that attracted the Japanese sharks plus a few other money grabbing gits, with the intention of making a huge profit - especially with the World Cup coming to England in 2018 :? . As soon as the World Cup bid failed, the property developer's interest wained, and the Green Army were abandoned to rot.

If the council buy back the ground, that will eliminate the interest of vultures like Heaney overnight, and it just might be possible to save the club.

Thanks for the info on George Donnelly, BB.
Sad to see Plymouth in their current plight.I hope they manage to get out of this mess.Potentially I would expect to see a sucessful Plymouth side attract gates of around 15,000 (Championship level). Is that a fair estimate ?
Incidentally, next Saturday Plymouth are at home to Macclesfield so you should see George Donnelly playing.....3 games so far but 0 goals for Macc.
Macc won 3-1 against Northampton yesterday ending a bit of a dodgy spell after they sold star striker,Emile Sinclair,to Peterborough in August.....he scored twice for them yesterday.
Leading scorer for Macc this season is a guy called Ben Tomlinson who they signed from Northern Premier League,Worksop Town,in pre season.......he's scored 5 up to now, including 2 against Northampton yesterday.

Yes, the Westcountry fanbase is very fickle. When the Green Army is doing well, they could fill the statium every week, regardless of division. When they're doing badly ....................... well you can see for yourself

D O O M E D ! ! !

After a couple of seasons, which would have seen many walk out a long time ago, one of football's true gentlemen has parted company with the Green Army.

He has had to put up with far too much - I wish him all the best in the future.

Have to be honest BB and say I read that in disbelief, especially as it seems they are just going to rely on senior, er, unpaid pro's instead? I really hope the new consortium come through and Plymouth and football can be rid of people like Ridsdale once and for all!

Here's another article http://www.thisisplymouth.co.uk/Peter-R ... story.html . If you read through the comments (most feel the same as me), there is one comment that gives hope - Brent has said that if he takes ownership, he would change the manager. So maybe something good may come out of it - a decent owner.

Hi BB, Havent been on the forum for some time, only to read occasional news from HH.

As a 'supporter' of PAFC for over 38 years, I am extremely saddened at what is happening at Home Park, especially now that PR has been sacked, I have admired that man for years and as you all know he was an excellent player also, all the best to him.

I would like to draw forum members attention to the growing awareness of Argyles' plight and the support from other teams fans around the country. There is, I believe, planned ''Fans United'' days under discussion on various football forums and it is heart warming to read comments from fans all over the country showing concern and support for Plymouths' football club.

Lets hope some good news can develop from Brents' supposed involvement in the buying of the club, and things can get sorted out on the pitch. GN. :|

That support was planned for next Saturday. However, the Plymouth fans are calling for a boycott of the game in protest at Reid's dismissal. Could be an interesting attendance on Saturday.

I was expecting to see last week's interview when I opened the link. In that link he was saying that Plymouth only need a couple of own goals to get them started :?

The manager's job was going to go to Larrieu or Fletcher. Fletcher won it, if won is the right word.

There's more about the sacking coming out. It seems Fletcher and Larrieu went to Ridsdale to complain that Reid had lost the dressing room. They've now moved from being Ridsdale's worst enemy to his best mate.

Larrieu is assistant manager by the way.

Aghhhh!!! :banghead: What a mess, my green blood is turning back to red. By the way I am also a Liverpool supporter for family reasons, and at the moment I feel like taking up following WWF or something that is less of a farce. :( GN.
