To put it in perspective, I didn't even know the game was on until yesterday.
I watched the game and its fair to say that England are certainly in a transitional stage and its not looking too bright, but with all respect, your boys aren't so great either.
Neither team will be world champions after the next tournament, thats for sure.
I'm not so sure these end of season games (for us) are of any great benefit when you can't take most of the squad you would like.
Remember Jonny and Co. made their debut when we sent a 3rd team to your shores that got beaten easily, so whose to say what the future holds?
Finally, any bets on Robinson leaving anytime soon?
Now, back to the real sport...........

Wow! After that outburst I don't think you will be able to play the 'I'm sensitive, so don't have a go at me just because I'm an Aussie' card again!olmate wrote:After a 34 to 3 crushing victory to the O-Z where is Johnny?? Maybe he has had too much see-sip and yaa-bah to kick a straght goal!!!!!!

Jaime,
As a regular visitor to Oz and with Aussie family, I've noticed they only "sing when they're winning", so to speak!
One of my greatest pleasures was at the 92 cricket world cup, where if you believed the aussie hype, everyone else was wasting their time in turning up - until the tournament actually started. It was great to see England kill them off. Bothams last great game, hit 52 (I believe) and took 4 for 50 something, including the wicket of Border.
But its hard to treat a country too seriously where the cricket commentators and press still refer to "the Paki's" without any sense of irony or realising the offence that can cause.
Chelsea might provide a more enlightened response?

For 84 minutes and 1-0 down, I thought that the Auusies would be doing a "Scotland" and getting home quicker than their holiday postcards, then they go and score 3 goals.
At half time overe here on free to air TV, all of the Eddie Experts doing the TV commentary were already questioning the tactics of the manager and it would have been really interesting to see what the headlines would have been had they not got either one or three points
For a country that up until the last couple of months always slagged the game of proper football, we now have the situation that everyone is now jumping on the bandwagon, and wants to have a piece of it
It will be interesting to see what happens if they get smashed by Brazil in the next game. The normal true to form attitude after a result in other sports over here is to slag the players who only a few days previous they had been cheering (Ask Greg Norman about that sort of attitude).
Si it will remain to be seen what happens after the Brazil game.
If they do manage to get through the group stages into the knockput stages, I cannot see them getting much further than the 1st round of the knockout.
Oh and by the way, who has the Ashes and the Rugby World Cup (Not the Aussies).
