Vettel does it yet again, with Hamilton's hopes for the title now gone unless something really unusual happens. Five of us picked Vettel to win, with Randy, Big Boy and Vital Spark having the best race with 13 points. Randy and I are now tied for the lead with 143 with Parahandy at 142, and Pitsch and Pharvey at 139.

A two week break now with the Italian GP coming up pn September 11. Good luck to all! :thumb: Pete

Thailand now bidding for F1. A Bangkok F1 street race would be interesting to say the least. Sure to be at least one granny though who pushes her noodle cart out onto the circuit, a few MIB who didn't know about it and turn all the lights red, and more than a few dogs as interested participants. :D Pete

Vettel does it yet again which means he can clinch the championship in Singapore in two weeks time. Eight of us picked Vettel to win, and JJBones had the best race with 14 points. I've recaptured the lead at 156 with Parahandy at 154, Randy 153 and Vital Spark at 150.

Europe is finished now with all the remaining races in Asia, ME, and Brazil to finish things off. The Singapore night race is up on September 25. Good luck to all! :thumb: Pete

Well done Pete, for nicking first spot. We've just finished watching the race as we now download it, so don't see it live.

I just loved the battle between Hamilton and Schumacher - defending at its best. The interesting part was when Button showed Hamilton how to overtake...

Vettel is undoubtedly the best driver out there at the moment, but it would make for a rather boring end to the season if he clinches the World Title in Singapore. Just from a spectator viewpoint. Singapore is 'Monaco after dark' and pole position is vitally important. But a tiddly mistake or loss of concentration is all it takes to turn things around.

Being 6 points behind the pole sitter probably puts me out of the championship crown, but with a bit of luck and a fair wind I'll be snapping at Randy and Mr.VS's heels. :naughty:

Thanks VS. Don't view these pages then until after you watch it as will spoil it for you. I think it's clear that picking the top 3 is not always the key to this pool, but trying your best to pick 4-10 plus the fastest lap. The 1 or 2 extra points gained from that can make all the difference. Pete

Vettel wins again, and all but two of us picked him to win. From what I read this morning he is still one point shy though of taking the championship.

Vital Spark is in her end of season sprint mode now and had the best week with 14 points, and the only one to pick the top 3 podium finishers correctly. No one picked Button for the fastest lap. Only five points (167-162) separating our top five now.

Off to Japan for October 9. Good luck to all. :thumb: Pete

Vettel crashes in Japan F1 practice

http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/sports/ ... 1-practice

Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel dramatically crashed out in practice in a jittery start to the Japanese Grand Prix, where he is just one point away from sealing back-to-back world titles.

The German on Friday speared into the wall at turn nine in the final minute of opening practice, but he was unhurt in the smash. Vettel was third in the session and McLaren's Jenson Button was quickest with 1min 33.634secs in his last lap.

Button, who sits second in the championship and trails the German by 124 points, needs to win the final five races of the season and have Vettel not finish better than 10th in any Grand Prix to deny him the title.

Splitting Button and Vettel in opening practice was Briton Lewis Hamilton, the McLaren driver finishing 0.091secs behind his team-mate.

Spain?s Fernando Alonso was fourth for Ferrari, while Vettel?s team-mate, Australian Mark Webber, rounded out the top five..................................................>

Button wins, and Vettel takes the championship. JJBones had the best race with 16 points. The lead has changed hands with Parahandy now in first place with 181 points, followed by myself with 180, Randy 179, Vital Spark and Pitsch with 177. It will come down to the wire this year with four races to go.

Quick turn around now with the Korean GP coming up next Sunday, October 16. Good luck to all! :thumb: Pete

I thought I was on to a winner at one point with both Sutil and Di Resta in the top 10. Ho hum, don't really know what happened as I dozed off some time during the second half of the race.

I'm really glad that Vettel has won the title, he thoroughly deserves it, and he comes across as a really nice bloke. His guest appearance on Top Gear shows his lovely character and sense of humour.

I'll have to come up with a cunning plan to try and prevent Mr.VS (aka Parahandy) getting his picks in on time for the next few races.

From the Internet, Pete. A great torrent site for UK programmes called TheBox - the same site that we download F1 from.

I've just been making my picks for this week, and noticed my position in the overall leader board. I'm virtually bottom of the HHAD league, yet I'm still in the top 25% Globally. Our own league must be very strong in the overall scheme of things.
Championship Plymouth Argyle 1 - 2 Leeds Utd

Points 46; Position 23 RELEGATED

Vettel wins again. Pitsch and Terry had the best races, both with 13 points. Parahandy and myself are now tied at 192 for the lead with Randy at 191 and Pitsch at 190. With 3 races to go our little Championship here will come down to the last race for sure.

Next up is India in a fortnight on October 30. Terry may have the edge with this one  Good luck to all! :thumb: Pete
