Delivery service, Pre-Order Home cooked meal!

Post by siriwanyp »

Hi, has anyone here heard or use any Delivery, pre-order home cooked (European) meal. Real European food, not fast food like KFC etc.

Almost any of the restaurants would get a motorbike taxi to deliver food for you, just at one of your regular places.

Not a specific company but 90% of places will deliver food, just ask in a local restaurant.

They'll make something off the menu and send a motorbike, simple.

I've got a few of them to print menus for me or if it's Thai we don't really need a menu.

When I was working in Rayong and staying in Pattaya  early last year, the place I was staying in had a menu which basically encompassed virtually all takeaways/restaurants/bars that would deliver - you phoned one number, they arranged and delivered.... excellent service. Admittedly there's no where near the expat population or the need in Hua Hin, but it would be nice to have something.

We have a place 7 or 8 Km's from town and it would be great to be able order food from a menu and have it delivered at times - whether for parties or just simply because I'm too lazy or just had a few beers too many to drive. Of course we love getting out and about, but then again it's nice to ''veg out''.

Get together Bar owners!! Sort it out........

There is Food by Phone doing it in Bkk, and another can't remember the name, they have hundreds of restaurants in their brochure, like an argos catalogue for restaurants, and they are quite good, but can be very slow when busy! Great if you both want different food as they will go to different places to collect, and the premium for ordering is pretty low 50tb or something from memory.

In Hua Hin nothing like this I know of, but most local restaurants will deliver if you know the phone number.

I hate to be pedantic but how can you pre-order anything. Either you order it or you don't.

A pre-order is an order for an item that has not yet been released...... not too sure how it applies to food though - hasn't been released to the kitchen yet perhaps :D

Obviously the OP is not interested in ordering food but checking out a business opportunity. These services are successfully in operation in Pattaya and Bangkok. Looking at the number of expat residents and the number of various restaurants in Hua Hin nowadays it could be the right moment. Relatively low investment, give it a try. However if it IS a success soon a dozen competitors will (try to) follow in your footsteps. Negotiating exclusive deals with all the restaurants would be the solution but not easy if not impossible to do in Thailand.
