My personal feelings about this are that if you feel the need to show the flag of your country in anothers have the common courtesy of showing the flag of your host nation as well.

I have done that now, my GF found a Thai flag nearly the same size, and it´s now placed on the opposite side of the entrance, and in the same height. i don't really understand the flying of other countries flags ,i certainly would not fly my national flag ,i moved here because mine was going down the drain,and also as mentioned above it could attract undesirables knowing its a farang house

I never flew any flags outside my house in the UK and I have no plans to start now, but I think this is all being given way too much significance.
