RENTING THE HOUSE OUT

Post by Brit Jim »

Thinking to rent the house out!

I have potentially 3 or 4 good agents that I think i can trust down town.
The logistics of using these is going to be problematic as I'm in the Uk.
So it looks like I will have to use one agent.

Trying to decify my priorities? Does a good website get better results over location of a sales office?
Seem to be a glut of properties on the rental market. I guess with the current Bangkok situation things may change

Any experiences good or bad most welcome. Obviously we can not name and shame on here and i dont want that, but please feel free to PM me

Thanks for your time!

You can list the property on our database which gets more traffic than the agents because we market it via the forum. We need 5 images and a full description, all enquiries will come direct to you and we take NO COMMISSION.

Send us a PM or contact us if you are interested in this service.

A few points to consider:

Nail down everything you can in your house before renting

Prepare the house for renting, such as soft inventory (kitchen ware, bed linen/towels, etc). Make total inventory beforehand (assets and soft items). List of key-points throughout the house and garden for the tenant, such as sprinkler timing, pool pump, lighting on timer, etc.

Payment of utilities (elec/water/ubc/cable/internet) trough direct debit or who pays what?

How many people you want in your house. State it to the agent as well.

Pricing is also very important.

Rent period (short/long) to decide. The shorter the more maintenance for you afterwards

If you need anything else, please feel free to contact me.

Good Luck.

Hi

Thanks for the Pm's and posts

If i was out there full time then I'd manage the property myself like I already do in the UK, not difficult!

The responses that I have reinforce my thoughts on who seem to be good agents!

Just looking at some of the resale properties, some bargains to be had In the 5 to 6 million region.
Maybe some of our new Bangkok residents relocating to HH (who dont believe in ghosts) will snap these up. I guess one of the negatives of such an influx will be price rises across the board, property, lifestyle, etc. Time will tell

Hi Lippy,

Did you ever manage to find a good agent?
Were you going to do holiday or longer term letting?

I am considering letting my house, otherwise it's going to be lying empty for a long time.
Never a good thing to leave a property unoccupied long term, IMO.

Maybe you can PM me if you don't want to mention specifics.

Cheers. :thumb:
