The small plastic bags used by 7/11 in Thailand are really a nuisance.
In fairness to the Danish tax authorities I should add that not all of the above is tax. The shop owners make a profit, too. Nothing is for free.

Yes, and in South Africa it seems to have worked very well. Of course the best approach would be to educate youngsters regarding litter while they're still in school, but...............

Hong Kong is the same which has been semi-successful - the night markets etc. certainly don't seem to bother which obviously stuffs up the good work done elsewhere.

Mainland China did also bring it in, but only the larger stores - the tens of thousands of Mom and Pop stores here still hand out the cr@ppy plastic bags like they're going out of fashion..... You need 3 of the damn things put together to enable you to carry anything. :banghead:
