The Hua Hin Pattaya ferry will be resuming service on December 9, running twice a week. Our online booking system has been re-instated again so you can get tickets quickly and conveniently online here: http://www.huahinmedia.com/huahinferry.php

Have the prices increased? I seem to remember pricing lower than currently advertised on their website.Lev wrote:The Hua Hin Pattaya ferry will be resuming service on December 9, running twice a week. Anyways, may well take advantage of the service on our next visit - bit more interesting than a bus or taxi.

Straight and to the point - fair play.Lev wrote:Yes.pharvey wrote: Have the prices increased?

Any idea whether this service will (sorry, planned to) continue ''seasonally''?
Surprised not extended over Songkran or is that a little too dangerous?

I've got my ticket booked for the maiden crossing and will report back. It certainly is more appealing than a taxi / mini-bus / coach. :]

I've just been informed by the ferry owners that the resumption of the ferry service has now been postponed to Friday 16 December.

Re: Hua Hin to Pattaya Ferry online booking
We have now been informed by the ferry owners that they have changed their minds again and decided after all this to definitively NOT restart the ferry service
To say I am disappointed, embarrassed and frustrated at the way the owners have handled this is an understatement.
As you all probably know, we were only the service provider here (i.e. docking facilities, HH shuttle transport and ticket sales) so we have absolutely no influence on operational matters and decisions.
We had relaunched our marketing efforts and incurred not inconsiderable expense in trying to revive interest in the service - all in vain as it now transpires.
I would like to thank everyone on this forum for the enthusiasm they have shown in supporting this service and express our apologies and regrets to customers who have been inconvenienced by the procrastination and uncertainty of those on the other side of the Gulf.

I feel badly for you Barry. Seems we have amateur owners with perhaps a not too well engineered or reliable craft for cross gulf trips. End of story, except for the tomato throwing if they say they're going to start it yet again.

Nothing wrong with the craft Pete - simply a matter of someone not correctly assessing the market potential and entering a business segment without any experience in that segment and thinking that it will happen automatically just because the product is there - absence of a well though-out marketing plan and not wanting to listen to anybody else's view was the problem in my opinion.
Re: Hua Hin to Pattaya Ferry online booking
i know barry has put a lot of effort in to making this a success on this side of the pond , but as he states above the people running the pattaya side should of done their homework ,
Re: Hua Hin to Pattaya Ferry online booking
It's a shame, I would have been up for a couple of days trip to see what was on the other side of the pond but don't fancy the road trip.
