Open Box TV, Dream Box, True.......

Post by Mrock »

Disclaimer: I did do some searching before starting this thread. And yes I'm sure TV has been beat to death.

Is the open box TV a quality option? I have good internet so I'm thinking so. Of course when I was looking and comtemplating buying one the sales guy told me it would work.

I'm used to my HD and PVR in Canada. I'm looking for the next best thing.

I've heard about the dream box too!

Help is appreciated.

I have gone for Open Box and am quite happy with it. My only gripe is with the sales people who are sometimes a little lacking in their ability to answer what to me are simple questions e.g.. "TrueVisions are advertising 8 new HD channels - will I get them on my Open Box?" I think the answer was "they're advertised but not yet transmitting" but I'm not sure! :banghead:
However, I have had good service from their installers who have also (outside their remit!) fixed up the previously poor performance of the cable TV that was aleady installed in the villa I'm renting.
I guess it's a question of offsetting initial capital costs (around 10,000 baht in my case) with the TrueVisions saving (around 2,000 baht per month). Of course, the dish is yours to move around the world if you want!
If you want to know where I bought the Open Box or see it in action best to send me a PM
I used to be indecisive - but now I'm not so sure!

Is it some where in Hua Hin, or in BKK that sells DreamBox?

Big Kiang no only sells Dream Box but all kinds of other satellite services and I think Open Box too. Their prices are less than anyone else in town AND their service is EXCELLENT!

Second that on the service. We've had problems with Truevisions twice and Catv twice and three out of four times the Truevisions and the CATV company could not (or would not) fix the problem. We called Big Kiang and it was sorted within 24 hours every time at a very reasonable cost.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Does it matter as long as you can get the images it may as well be a shamrock!

They are clones. Price per month is 300 Bt for all of the channels.
Normal price is 2000 Bt.
