No - don't really understand the question. Could you explain please?
Don't worry. These were characters that were posting on this site with the deliberate intention of winding up not only myself but others. No offence was intended.

Anyway I now have to get back onto the subject of Roo Turds.

Kangaroo turds are in fact slightly elongated spherical pellets - somewhat mid-range between a "soccer" and (what we call) a "foot" ball.

Thank you for the explanation. Unfortunately all I know of the Southern hemisphere is what I was taught in school. Despite being well travelled I have never knowingly crossed the Equator.

What I do remember from school lessons though is that when the English (or was it the British) first found Australia the sailors on their return brought stories of a land completed infested with giant rats with only two legs and apes that resembled humans. Of course most of us better educated now.

It all ties together now. The turds I find on my keyboard every morning are exactly shaped as you describe. We don't see many roos in Hua Hin so I can only presume that they have been deposited by rats that my lazy fat sleeping cat has failed to catch.

Anyway I look forward to the party and the following day's clash of the soccer Titans.

I eagerly await your next posting after we cruise to victory over Italy.

So how much is that going to cost the Aussie FA?
As Mr. Murdoch has already purchased Australia, the UK and even the presidency of the US I would think that the cost of the World Cup would be pocket change.

However, I have seen most of the Australian games and they have arrived in the next round purely by merit. No cheating with the Ozzies.

I hope everybody agrees with that it was such good news for France to get through doing exactly what was required of them to ensure survival. Then the bad news is that Switzerland beat Korea and pushed them into second place and therefore now France have to face the mighty unstopable Spanish.

There are 3 teams on one side of the draw and 6 on the other who stand a realistic chance of reaching the final barring a shock.

Either Argentina, Germany or Italy will make the final and from the other half
either Brazil, Portugal, Holland, Spain, France or Ecuador.

Seriously bad news news for my part of town! Luckily the losers of the aforementioned match are seriously civilised people, although I was concerned when I saw my neighbour retrieve his Countries flag from the roof of his well worn transit and then ceremoniously burn it on the street. I think it was a religious rather than political act - although the figurine of a referee (deservedly) could have been sacrificed as an offering?

I can't argue with that, the Aussie style of play has resembled that what you would expect from a good English Premiership team, and has been quite refreshing when compared with most other teams. It is a pity the English team has not been playing with the same enthusiasm.

Unfortunately, England probably won't show their true colours until they face Holland or Portugal in the quarter finals. For some reason, England only play at their best when they are playing teams in their own class - I don't think their style can handle the 11 man defence too well, and their performance often looks as though its struggling. In reality, their performance is cumbersome, but they are not threatened by these sub-standard teams.

I more or less agree with Joickey's shortlist except of course that both Portugal and Holland can not progress any further. As in the France Spain clash two of the possible winners face each other.

My prediction for the last eight is:

Gernamy, Argentina, Ecuador, Holland (If Robben can stay on his feet), Italy, Switzerland (the only team of all who have not conceded a goal), Brasil and Spain.

There is some relevance regarding Switzerland's defence. If you can play the rest of the competition without conceding goal you win. Unlikely though as I have a feeling we are going to see a few penalty shoot outs from now on.

Maybe someone should start a poll on which England player misses and gets them knocked out of the cup.

I have just woken up from my afternoon nap in a bit of sweat after a very vivid bizarre dream.

I was at the World Cup final and the final whistle had just blown. The crowd was a sea or red and white cross flags.

I thought to myself "Oh my Buddha, England have really done it." I then looked up at the scoreboard to check the score and to my surprise it was:

Switzerland 2 Holland 0

Many a true word spoken in jest. I wish I could put in a sarcastic reply............but if history is anything to go on...........

Maybe I'd better take the Guess route to glory - just dream about it.

This should make the Ecuadorians try a bit harder today:
Ecuador's players have been promised a herd of cattle each by the country's president if they beat England on Sunday. (Daily Star Sunday)

He could have offered an awful lot more - at the end of the day, he isn't going to have to pay out.

More Beckham and other Revelations

Post by Guess »

Some amazing new revelations in the Ecuadorian El Telegráfico Diario regarding David Beckham's preparation for the knock out match against South America's third ranking national team have been published this morning. Translated from Spanish the article read:

"Whilst Germany were in the process of defeating Sweden David was witnessed by the media walking around the Daimler-Benz Automobile Museum in Stuttgart on no less than 12 times over a period of two hours. He was wearing an Emporio Armani suit and shirt with Gucci shoes and also a Panama Hat. Everytime he passed the main entrance of the museum, after exactly ten minutes, the hat had been rotated through 30 degrees."

This bizzare revelataion came amidst well substantiated claims (according to the Argentine daily El Sol) that Franz Beckenbaur and Sven Goran Erikson are indeed one and the same person. The SAFA will lodge a complaint with FIFA if in the extremely unlikely event that Ecuador or Agrentina are defeated by Germany or England respectively.
