Hi, i will like to find out more on the beach bars in HH as i schroll through topics in the forum & can't find what i am looking for. How far is the beach bars from the town center? Is it safe partying there & flag down a cab or tuk tuk back to hotel after 1 am? How's the crowd at the beach? Thanks in advance

Beach Bars in Hua Hin
If what you have done yesterday still looks big to you, you have not
done much today.

Adrian,This has been covered on a post before somewhere,as you walk the beach south there is Verandha and Tim's place but can often get drink or lunch in some of the hotels and guesthouses, going North for sure can get drinks at White sands guest house. Can always walk down and if you do not fancy walking back just cut onto the road and can always get motorcycle or tuk tuk back. Its not like Samui but worth exploring.Lomu might know better as I think he does the walk daily if I remember one of his posts as to why he loves Hua Hin.I do it everyday myself when I used to go to Hua Hin and always walked back after 10pm but was attacked by 3 dogs once but no muggers ever
The number of places right on the beach depends on the time of year. Right now there are not so many - not surprising as the beach is pretty deserted in the mornings when I go - 9am onwards.
If you stroll down to Kao Takieb from the main beach entrance at the Sofitel, you'll pass a number. Outside the Sofitel and Marriott, for starters, but I never stop there. About a km further down there are a couple of decent places and further still, just after The Sailom and before The Esplanade is a nice spot with two places that are clean, on decent sand and friendly.
After that, there's not much until you get to Takieb itself, so don't get caught without liquid refreshment on a hot day.
I havn't been to all of them by any means, but I would think prices are very similar - 30/40B for a small beer and food starting at 40-80B upwards.
I've not no idea of how late they're open, but as Digger said, don't expect it to be Samui or other beach locations. It wouldn't surprise me if most closed around 5-6pm, but I'm not certain.

There was a lenghy discussion on beach bars here:

One of my favourites is called "Paleo", just past the Sofitel, nice atmos but the music can be a bit loud especially when the band start getting drunk!
Hated the Verandah, big rip off, miserable staff, crap service in my opinion.

Spent a couple of really enjoyable afternoons and evenings at Paleo bar. Agree about the band - hit & miss - but very friendly place and great for letting the kids play on the beach while you have a beer and some food. It seems they are open until the last person leaves! It is the first bar after turning right about 2 or 3 hundred yards along the beach from the Sofitel entrance.
