Personally I can't see her even reading the letter, but then again, stranger things have happened in Thailand. I think many expats are under the impression that all Thais love us, but not all of them do. In fact, there are some who cannot stand us. I've now had two encounters with ordinary Thais who have made it absolutely clear that they do not like westerners. Saying that, both were stuck up cows from Bangkok, and both were still only in their twenties. The first time I ran into this, I simply laughed, but the second time, which happened at the floating market last week, I let rip, and my only regret is that I can't speak much Thai, because although she could speak a bit of English, I'm sure I could have torn her apart a bit more if my Thai was better than it is.
Anyway.........
I must admit, it would be nice if they relaxed the laws a bit, and especially for those of us who have Thai family here. I mean, after 11 years of marriage, and three kids later, you're hardly in it for the sake of a visa, so yes, I do think I'm not being treated fairly. Strange how a country that always preaches about family values is willing to tear a family apart over a little bit of money.
I know, this is Thailand, and it's their laws, but that doesn't mean I have to agree with them.

Don't try to impress me with your manner of dress cos a monkey himself is a monkey no less - cold fact
