Hi tuna,

I grew up as a neighbor in Tennessee!
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

To relate a bit about my trip in early October. We stayed in the Puktien Cabana Beach Resort in Petchaburi, which was nice although quite empty at the time. My girlfriend is a business manager from Bkk and prefers the low key Cha-am area to Huahin. And I seriously enjoy parts of Cha-am beach.

Anyway, we toured around visiting Huahin markets, restaurants, and the beach. I can't recall the place names, but I love the areas best where I can easily identify expat foods like German, Italian, etc. lol. The few ethnic butchers and bake shops of this type I found were really special.

This was my first visit to Thailand in many years and would like to come back again for a longer stay before I decide on the future to include retirement and marriage.

I must say that I am quite pleased to have discovered this forum and appreciate your views and information.

My Best Regards

I am originally close to Kentucky myself, about 8 minutes away from west ky. I used to live in the southern tip of Illinois.

I don't live in Hua Hin, so i can't really give you an informed opinion about the Hua Hin area, but i think hhfarang lives in the Hua Hin area.

Mainly the climate...(which doesn't agree with me). Hua Hin is not so bad otherwise... especially when compared to other locations within Thailand.
