UK to Thai Passport Translation For Proof Of Fatherhood

Post by JimmyGreaves »

Need to get proof for legal reasons that I am the father of my daughter :D

I have a birth certificate with my name on it but that's not proof.

If I am married to the mother then I do not need to jump this hoop but I'm not. We have been together for years!

Anyway the Amphur requires that the relevant page of my passport needs Thai translation, I won't ask why (All passports have English translation)

They recommended the law office that is in the shopping mall (IT mall, near Tessabahn). Sent the missus on the errand and low and behold an extortionate price of 7,500 baht was quoted. What a rip off!

Any ideas where to go? At that price I will be going to Bangkok and get it done for less than 500.

Our office regularly does this type of translation. Have you wife drop into the office and speak to Khun Jeab. In addition, Khun Jeab can certify the translation. Location details at: http://www.learningcentre.co.th

Yes I agree extortionate - but

Have you considered that there might be 'tea money' in there for somebody

Do you have to go back to the Tessadbhan?
If so - your attempts at saving cost just might backfire............

Only a thought

Not sure what you mean Terry (Amphur on the bypass, not tessabahn). All I need is a page of the passport translated that you can get done and stamped near the British Embassy in BKK for 400 baht!

Tea money, more like caviar money!
