OK - the white cliffs of Dover and some over-sized inverted noodle strainers.............

Winkers was written on the basis that I wasn't allowed to call Terry and RZR wankers.
But there may conceivably be a clue tucked away there somewhere...

White Cliffs etc. - correct, but you need to be much more precise.
Warning bells? Possibly, but it's the location I need.

It does look like the white cliffs of Dover, quite sure it is.

The second is Bouys....could they come from Leigh on sea?

Blind Beggar, famous for a Kray twins murder (Jack the Hat?)
Cheshire Cheese famous haunt for Fleet Steet`s finest
Ten Bells, part of Jack the Ripper lore.
So is the odd one out Cheshire Cheese as it`s not connected with murder, or because it doesn`t have a famous Jack attached to it`s history.

The Olde Cheshire Cheese (excellent pint of Sammy Smiths by the way...I used to drink there) is the odd one out as it is famous as the haunt of famous literary figures and journos. The Blind Beggar is famous as the Kray Twins shot Jack The Hat there, and the Ten Bells is famous as the place where two of the victims of Jack the Ripper drank there, and thus presumably so did Jack at some point.

All three are also ancient pub sites - the Ten Bells dates from around the same time as the famous Hawksmoor church next door, and the other two have been there in some form since the late middle ages.

However, compared to The Man And Scythe in my home town of Bolton they are all johnny come latelys. There has been a pub constantly on that site since the early 1200s. For the price of a pint you can also sit in the Headless Mans Chair where the Earl of Derby sat to drink his last pint before being beheaded for treason in the square outside the pub front door.

I think that the lighthouse on the White cliffs of Dover is South Foreland which is a warning for the nearby Goodwin sands so are those buoys destined for the same?
Perhaps the Trinity House Buoy yard at Harwich for the second picture?

Correct, for South Foreland, Steve G - a beautiful clifftop walk I did regularly from Dover to St Margaret's.

You have the theme now, but the other location is slightly less functional.
And perhaps a bit darker?

(Stop thinking about boys - I mean buoys - focus on the educational location. I'll post another photo shortly...)

You have the theme now [theme as in 'lighthouse'], but the other location is slightly less functional.
And perhaps a bit darker?
