SUPER BOWL 2012

Post by richard »

Chatted today to a certain soi 80 bar owner who has 10 flat screen TV's who is planning to show the SB and serve a pancake and ice-cream breakfast with real good coffee. He has an advertorial so I presume he will give you the facts. He will open at 6am and by the time your tummies are full of coffee and pancakes it will be happy hour time

Anyone interested?

Richard,

Do you know how he is planning on getting it? I searched the TrueVisions schedule on their web site and the Superbowl is not listed as being shown this year on True. I've watched it on TrueVisions every year here since 2004 so maybe it's just a schedule mistake, but they also showed all the NFL games (on ASN) here the last couple of years which they dropped this year.

Even before ASN, they used to show a few games on one of the other sports channels and always the playoffs and Superbowl but it appears they are not doing that now.

I've written to their customer service about the Superbowl. I'm hoping that is just a mistake in their online schedule but one never knows as TIT.

I'm on the run HHF and can't check at the moment, but check ESPN. They showed it last year and I think they have the rights this year also. Pete

Pete,

I did check ESPN (on TrueVisions) for the early morning of Feb 6th with no Superbowl listed. As I said though I hoping this is just an error in their online schedule... it's happened before, especially with "one off" events. When I send their customer service an email, I usually get a response in a couple of days so I'll know for sure soon.

No response from John (lease holder) so I assume he is away or not interested :(

Apparently it's televised on ASN (All Sports Network).

Parvey, TrueVisions dropped ASN sometime around September. There was a discussion thread here about it as that meant no American football and much less basketball and baseball.

It seems NBC has the rights to it this year, not ESPN. See below NFL link as it appears you can get it on your computer under their "Red Zone" program, but only as video and not live. I didn't look into the cost. Pete :(

Hi All,

Is it possible NBC have rights in US only? ESPN is showing it live in Australia. Do they broadcast in Thailand? If so you may find that it is being shown on ESPN.

GO GIANTS

Cheers,

We do have ESPN and I checked again yesterday on the TrueVisions online schedule and it was not there. They never answered my email either. They update their schedules on the 1st of each month so we'll see if it shows up in a couple of days.

Pancakes & Ice Cream? Interesting combo - I don't know that I would be into that.

This is the first time I can remember (maybe since my Saudi days) that I didn't see the Superbowl as it was not televised here on TrueVisions or anything else that I know of.

WOW! Great game. I downloaded the game "Live" and watched it on y TV through my MacBook Pro. Cost US$19.95 for Playoffs and Super Bowl. All available Live. he whole season is available for $US69.95. Did it show on any local channels in Thailand? This was a big selling point for my wife (She is a hugh Football Fan) on coming to Thailand. I hope so for next season. Although we still have the option of this download, and you can watch the games when ever you like as well as live.
Cheers! Go Giants!
