Good Eats in Bor Fai

Post by wenshidi »

I have some European friends visiting at the moment and would like a few more eating options in the Bor Fai area to take them to for dinner in the evenings. I already know a few places such as Boom and Bam and Burgers' but I wondered what other recommendations the members here had for good reliable food in this part of the city.

Try Pim's new restaurant on the right hand side of the Canal road, (from the Bor Fai turn off, it's around 1km towards Palm Hills). Has Thai and 'falang' food. Nice decor and atmosphere and reports back have been very good. I'm told they have just started a 150 baht barbecue rib and seafood buffet, every Sunday, starting today. Not sure how they make a profit, probably on drinks.

When I went it was busy, if you find the same, choose one of the specials on the board. Otherwise the wait is longer. They also do takeaways. Don't forget to tip the young waitress. She's refreshingly friendly.

I agree Nereus, we go there to eat whenever we are in the area. Kor Sor has very good Thai food at reasonable prices considering it is a resort and considering the atmosphere and service.

Here is a new link as it seems the one posted by BaaBaa no longer works.

It shows a map under the contact tab.

I agree entirely about Kor Sor. Its a really nice place for lunch or dinner. We were there pre-Christmas for the King's birthday and it was magical. Mr Burger is also excellent, good and reasonably priced food in a great setting. The staff in both are top banana too, we've always found.

I agree as well. That's our favorite place to eat on the north end of town west of Phetkasem road. The Thai food is "Royal Thai" which means the dishes (selection) and presentation there are only seen at the top class Thai restaurants. The surrounding resort grounds with the lake, fountain, waterfall and foot paths to explore is nice as well.

That's about right - I think the sign says 'Mr Burger 3' - I've never been in it though.

The food is okay at Mr Burger 3, the prices are very reasonable, and the setting is lovely, but don't take too much notice of the name, since their burgers are nothing special at all........just a dry bun with a meat patty and some dressing.

Just remember to take plenty of mosquito repellant because they breed very well in the lake beside the eating area

Yes, it's ok. I've had many a good lunch there, both Thai and Western, but it doesn't compare to Kor Sor imho.

Yes HHF, I've eaten at Burger 3 dozens of times and will continue doing so because the food is enjoyable, and the setting is lovely, but I wouldn't say the food is better than elsewhere. I also don't think one can even compare Burger 3 to Kor Sor.................just worlds apart, and I'll be very surprised if the prices at Kor Sor stay the same as they are now. Elsewhere in Thailand, you'd pay twice as much, if not more, to eat at a similar type of venue.

Just a pity their room rates aren't as cheap because I'd enjoy spending a day or two there.
