Re: [ADVERTORIAL] Naab Thong Restaurant
The Italian sausage is great... but when they say "hot Italian", they mean it so this is not for people who can't handle spicy food. I think I've tried all of the current types of sausage there now and I would rate them as my own personal preference the following way:
1. Cumberland (medium spices, but not "hot" spicy)
2. Italian (very spicy)
3. Chiang Mai (very spicy)
4. A tie for me between the Irish and Swiss (good sausage flavor for people who don't like spicy or hot)
They're all good but today I had a mixed plate of Cumberland and Italian and my wife tried them and said that's what she would get next time... never figured her for a person who would like sausage but she loved them as well as the mash and onion gravy that came with them.
Good job again Naab Thong!

Are the samosas you offer the same as regular Indian samosas - those triangular shaped snacks? Just curious since I've can't recalled ever seeing samosas being sold in Thailand.

Naab Thong's samosas are great, Indian style and triangular, but FYI S & S indian Restaurant Soi 94 has them on its normal menu - 75 baht for a 4 samosa servingTakiap wrote:Are the samosas you offer the same as regular Indian samosas - those triangular shaped snacks? I used to be indecisive - but now I'm not so sure!

Re: [ADVERTORIAL] Naab Thong Restaurant
Okay cheers, thanks for the reply. In South Africa, at least in Cape Town, you won't find a shop that doesn't sell them. I guess it came about because of the Cape Malay population, but is now firmly rooted in SA culture........nip down to the local shop, pick up some smokes, milk, bread or whatever, and of course a few samosas.
When I was last in Panang, I located a guy who makes his living from making making samosas, and during my four days there, I must have eaten at least 15 per day....lol, at a cost of 10 cents each, so about 10 baht per samosa. Not the same as back in South Africa, but still nice. The South African ones tend to have a little bit more sauce in them, and also more meat and onion.
Will try S&P if I can find it since it's closer than Naab Thong, although Naab Tong is definitely on my list of "must go" places.

Hi Naab Thong!
I've been "talking" to Takiab and I imagine he'd be quite partial to boerewors - I know I certainly would be!

Our samosas are vegetarian. Made to a recipe shown to us by an Indian friend. Served with homemade mango chutney. You should give them a try Takiap before Barrys eats them all
