The 7 Dwarfs were working in the Welsh mines when there was a terrible tragedy and the mine collapsed.

Snow White shouted down the mine shaft, "Can anybody hear me?"

A voice shouted back, "Wales are going to win the 6 Nations."

Snow White turned to the waiting crowds, and said, "At least Dopey's alive."

Yep, the only sour note in an enthralling game.

Wales deserved the win, Ireland were just hanging in there for long periods, thought they'd won the game with the late try & paid the penalty (literally  :D )

Grand slam for Wales? possibly, but i think they'll definately win the championship though.

Wales were superb up front, especially when you consider they were playing without FIVE first choice forwards in Gethin Jenkins & Mathew Rees in the front row, Charteris & Alun Wyn Jones in the second row and Lydiate at 6. Then during the match Warburton is off at half time and Adam Jones goes off ten minutes from time, leaving just Toby Faletau in the pack from the World Cup first choice forwards!

Matching Ireland at 5 points each when down to 14 men was also massive and Priestland and Roberts have both been out for weeks before the match.

Huge performance all round then but Davies will be lucky to get less than a 6 week ban in my opinion and could even get up to 10 weeks, depending on how they rate the seriousness of the incident. I think Ferris will (should) get a 1 - 2 week ban as well, as they have both now been cited by the match commissioner.

I wonder whether Wales will pick Ryan Jones at lock now that Lydiate is expected to be fit at 6 (along with Gethin) for the Scotland game.

There were a few somewhat dubious decisions from Barnes yet again, although not to effect the result..... :D

Glad to see Ferris was cleared - a ban really would have been a piss-take. Personally I thought the yellow card was harsh - penalty, yes. Davies fully deserves his ban - should have been red carded and in all honesty I thought he was looking at 10 weeks minimum.

The look on Ryan Jones' face says it all...... "you feckin' tw@t!" :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss:

As Jamie says, I'm sure Ryan Jones will now move to the 2nd row........ our lineout will now be non-existent! :cuss: :banghead: :banghead: :cuss:

I think that whilst the IRB closed ranks and Alain Rolland was backed to the hilt over Warburton's red card, something has happened behind the scenes since then as it is clear that the starting point for ALL tip tackle offences is no longer a red card, which is how it was presented by the IRB during the world cup.

Don't forget, the intent of the tackler is not supposed to be a factor in deciding upon whether an offence has occurred but that seems to have been taken into account in deciding not to give Ferris a ban.

Whilst I would agree that when I was playing, the tackle by Ferris would not have even warranted a penalty, Ferris did lift Ian Evans way beyond the horizontal, such that his hips were above his shoulders, and drop him to the floor. Like it or not, this is a penalty offence, albeit at the low end of the scale, which according to the IRB regulations warrants a 1 to 2 week ban.

Harsh maybe but them's the rules!

I think Bradley Davies got off lightly but where is the consistency in the application of punishments for this so-called offence?

As I mentioned above, I think the IRB are now unclear about this issue and they are clearly allowing the tackler's intent to be considered as part of the judgement.

It feels strange defending an English ref but I think Wayne Barnes has been hung out to dry here. In the first instance, it was not him but his touch judge Dave Pearson who recommended the yellow card for Bradley Davies and Barnes referreed the Ferris incident absolutely to the letter of the law, as widely discussed during the world cup. Although, according to the IRB statements issued at the time, he should have given Ferris a straight red!

If England have played twice as many games as most teams, and won them all even though they're playing badly, just imagine what's in store when they start playing well. Bring it on :neener:
